Album Review: Temple Koludra – Seven! Sirens! To A Lost Archetype (Transcending Obscurity Records)

German band Temple Koludra are merging their fascination with Indian spirituality with black/death metal music to astounding results. The fusion happens on an intrinsic level, imbuing the music with extraordinary qualities that make their music stand out from the rest. The vision has remained fierce and the execution flawless, as members of this enigmatic band use all their experience in other bands to create something that will stand the test of time, warranting multiple listens and unearthing of multiple facets buried within.

Seven! Sirens! To A Lost Archetype is the band’s first full length and will be released on June 14th 2019 via Transcending Obscurity Records.

Nightmarish yet so very compelling, Temple Koludra have crafted a black metal album that calls to the evil inside all of us. A mystical and ancient listen, the seven tracks of the album are darkness personified and few will be able to stop it washing over and consuming all.

A captivating black metal release, one of the best of the year for sure. The crushing heaviness of Vajra, Namapura and Vertigo are simply divine.

A real highlight though is the subtle eeriness of This Diadem Will Last. The haunted sounds building in threat until Temple Koludra are ready to unleash hell.

Any black metal release, especially one routed in the old school sound that ends on a 12 minute long track is impressive. Even more so when it captivates the way in which White | Trance does.
