13 Days of Halloween: My Favourite Horror Movie Featuring: Reaven

As part of our ’13 Days of Halloween 2022′ content, we asked Romeo Bassi (lead-singer/guitarist/songwriter) of indie pop/rock band, Reaven to tell us about his favourite horror movie.

I think that my first favourite horror movie was “The Exorcist” (the 1973 version). I remember that I was in high school when I first bought and saw the DVD. It was my “horror movie” period, and starting with this one was something that I will remember forever.

I also loved the music at the very first second. Especially “Tubular Bells” by Mike Oldfield, it gives the movie intensity, suspense, and emotion. I watched the movie a few years ago again, of course it got old, if we’re talking about the visual effects, but I do find that the “horror vibes” remain really strong.

I have had this image in my head since the first time I saw the movie, it was when the “possessed daughter” Regan Mc Neil is levitating on her bed. I found the scene really powerful, and the make up team really did a great job as well for this one !!

I think every horror movie fan should at least see this one once, because to me, it was the very beginning of a “genre” and it remains a true masterpiece even today.
