Band Interview: Reaven

Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with pop rock band Reaven.

If you wanna go on a electro trip, sail away in a Pop/Rock boat to travel the world, you should meet Reaven. 4 strong identities, 4 guys who met along the way leading to a pop-rock universe colored with a provocative electro touch.

Reaven is the story of 4 friends who started making music together in the school playground.
In 2018/2019, they went on a european tour over 10 countries and more than 50 concerts. They’re back on the road in 2020/2021, with a new album, a new show and a new tour! The “FOR TOMORROW TOUR”!

Dive into their world and embark with them! Their new album “For Tomorrow” will be released in 2020.

1. How did you get started as a band?

At the age of 14 I (Lead Singer-Guitarist of Reaven) asked Vince (drummer of the band) if he wanted to create a band. We were at school, he just said “yes, let’s do this” and so we started it.

2. How would you describe your sound?

I think that we do have very catchy compositions, and a real personal rock sound with a small touch of electro. We also interact a lot with the audience during a show, and it’s creating a very unique atmosphere & connection!

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

We do have a very large panel of influences. Musically, from the Woodstock years, The Beatles etc… to more recent bands like Kings of Leon, Muse etc…

We also have Rhythm’n’blues, classical and jazz influences… I guess we’ve been influenced by their sounds and the way they build a composition! The Beatles, for example, always have very catchy melodies and I guess because of them I always paid a special attention to the melodies in my compositions.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

I guess both. The digitalization of music gave voices to bands and artists who were not able to have visibility. But at the same time, it becomes harder and harder to be visible because thousands and thousands or artists are searching for exposure at the same time.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

We do love travels a lot. When we have time between the tours, we love to discover new countries, cities… Also, at home we are really fond of movies & cinema, readings as well!

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

The release of our new album “For Tomorrow” is our next big project. But also to re-schedule our 2020 Europe & US tour in 2021.
