1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

My name is Mark. I am a Virgo, I love Lamp, and long walks on the beach, Horror Movies, Metal, Mortal Kombat. I am also the heavy vocalist and key/synth player for Inherently Lost. We started jamming together a few years ago with the goal to play whatever we wanted to play and not be forced into writing “scene” type music.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

Symphonic Industrial Blackened Melodic Death Metal.

3. What’s currently going on in your camp? New releases? Tours? Etc.

After playing a few regional shows this past year, We just released our cover of Motley Crue’s Red Hot and the first single Unraveling Sanity on the upcoming new album Art of Corruption. Currently in the studio finishing writing and recording the rest of the new shit.

4. What has been the most positive experience of making music to date for you?

Most recently it would be the amount of merch we sold at the 8 regional shows, that helped us big time and goes toward all new merch for future shows. Seeing that type of support is refreshing in such a bleak industry.

5. Likewise, what has been some of the more challenging aspects and how have you overcome them?

Some of the venues do not have the best sound operators or pa systems. Only thing you can do as a band is know your music inside and out so when these instances occur no one notices but you.

6. How do you handle the modern expectations of being in a band? Always online, having to put out content constantly, your success measured in likes and follows?

I take it with a grain of salt. I have a ton of experience and have hopeful but realistic expectations. The constant content is a necessity, there’s plenty of tools these days to utilize in making content. I don’t really worry about likes/follows, more worried about people actually listening and understanding my art.

7. What’s something that really ‘grinds your gears’ about the industry/business these days and what would you propose is done to combat it?

Well, I noticed recently all bands were posting their Spotify Wrapped stats, and I noticed an onslaught of local bands that had more “streams” and “followers” than actually touring professional bands. Like, yeah, Im sure your 0-4 shows a year help generate those “2.2 million plays”. Get the fuck outta here dude! You are not fooling anyone. It’s embarrassing.

To combat it, I think everyone needs to call these people out instead of just going along with it and not saying anything.

8. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support your music?

Add Unraveling Sanity and Red Hot to your playlists. They are available on all streaming sites. Come to a show and hang out if you can, buy merch. You can even by merch online at www.inherentlylost.bandcamp.com.

9. Outside of the music, what’s do you do to relax?

Tons of Sex, Booze, Video Games and Chillin next to a nice Fire.

10. Where can people find you?

All social media and streaming sites can be found directly here.
