Doors will be at 2:30pm. Organisers Aonia are celebrating the anniversary of their debut album ‘The Seven’ – and so, the festival features SEVEN outstanding bands from across England and abroad: Aonia, Chasing Dragons, Lesbian Bed Death, Elusion (BE), White Raven Down, Winter Storm, and Soul Shredder.
As part of their celebration of ‘The Seven,’ Aonia will be playing the album in full, along with fan-favourites from previous releases and crowd-pleasing covers. And they promise some extra-special additions to their ever-engaging live show!
AoniaFest brings together some of the top heavy metal underground talent from England and Europe, offering a variety of subgenres to the Steel City. The day promises to be friendly, fun – and face-melting!

Meet the bands:
Aonia: Operatic / progressive metal. A seven-headed, 14-legged creature, Aonia wields dual soprano vocals, twin axes, searing keys and driving drums and bass. Following their Bloodstock 2018 appearance, their European tour, their appearances as special guests on Blaze Bayley’s Tour of the Eagle Spirit, and the release of their debut album ‘The Seven,’ Aonia are perfect for fans of Therion, Avantasia and Dream Theater. Chasing Dragons. Veterans of Bloodstock and Amplified Festivals, this band’s hard-driving metal is fuelled with energy, sure to please fans of Avenged Sevenfold, Halestorm and Nothing More. Check out ‘I’m No Devil (I’m Just a Girl)’ below:
Lesbian Bed Death. Gothic / Hard rockers, Lesbian Bed Death are a mix of ”80s hard rock tainted with moody gothic tinges, all delivered with a fresh contemporary twist’ (UberRock). Current single – ‘Fury’:
Elusion. A symphonic metal band hailing from Belgium, Elusion are at must-see for fans of Nightwish, Leaves’ Eyes, and Blind Guardian. We met Elusion on our 2018 European tour and were blown away by both their musicianship and their incredible friendliness! Current single – ‘The Strive’:
White Raven Down. A heavy rock outfit, White Raven Down are influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath, Alter Bridge, and In Flames. Check out ‘Salvation’ below:
Winter Storm. Melodic metallers with driving guitars, Winter Storm are veterans of Bloodstock and HRH and are sure to please fans of bands such as Nightwish, Kamelot, and Symphony X. They’re currently hard at work on album #3, but in the meantime, check out ‘Dark Awakening’ below:
Soul Shredder. Sure to please fans of Sinergy, Firewind, and Within Temptation, Soul Shredder are a melodic metal band with edgy, driving riffs and soaring vocals.
