Interview: Brick by Brick – The Story of ‘Every House We Built’ with Exploring Birdsong
‘Every House We Built’ is the debut album from Exploring Birdsong, out 26th June via Long Branch Records. At its core, Every House We Built is an album about relationships, friendships, family ties and romance. Using the metaphor of houses to frame the fragile and evolving nature of these bonds.

As an album, it’s not a complex metaphor but it works well as everyone can relate to it in some way or another, and the strength of feeling in the album shines brightly. Brimming with heart and soul, it’s a very special listen and one of my favourites of the year.
We spoke with all three members of the band, Lynsey Ward (lead vocals/piano/keyboards), Jonny Knight (bass guitar/synths/keyboards), and Matt Harrison (drums /percussion), about the album and go in depth into the work that has gone into making it a reality, as well as so much more. Including having a ton of fun with our randomised Q&A section aka ‘Ozzy Osbone the second’.
