Band Interview: Dean England
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with rock singer/song-writer, Dean England.
1. How did you get started as a band?
Actually I was in a rock band for ten years, we did ok and had a small deal but unfortunately we spilt as bands do. After that I messed around for a while trying to find my sound and then this last year it’s all come together for me. I am a solo artist now with a sound that I love and everything is falling into place.
2. How would you describe your sound?
I guess it’s acoustic rock, I have soulful vocals and acoustic guitar going, but I still love a good solo here and there and also the vocal harmonies are cool too.
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
I love blues I love Clapton and Hendrix.. The Eagles are my vocal harmony hero’s! I still love some old soul stuff too, Sam Cooke is one of my favourites to listen to.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
I think it can only help. I mean you get chance for people to see your work online too. It can only be a good thing for an artist I think. And it’s nice when you see your videos getting views.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
I try and have as much family time as I can really. We are foodies and love good food in our house. I am blessed because my girl is a great cook. Other then that it’s walks in nature and chilling out with my boys.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
I am promoting “Feel, Think Do” at the moment. It’s going to be all I live and breath for the next 6/12 months. And as many live shows as possible. Thanks for having me peace and love and cheers to your ears.
