Green Lung – Necropolitan Line

Green Lung have revealed their latest track, ‘Necropolitan Line’, taken from their forthcoming new record, ‘Necropolitan’, due out on Friday September 11th, 2026. A monumental portrait of the power of nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, Necropolitan is also a grand celebration of the occult lore and heavy music scene of the band’s birthplace, the city of London.

Green Lung stated:

Is there a more fitting subject for a Green Lung song than the Necropolis Railway, a real-life train line that carried corpses and mourners across London in the late 19th Century? Mix in some inspiration from 1972’s London Underground-set shocker Death Line, a madcap neoclassical organ/guitar duel that evokes Richie Blackmore and Jon Lord at their finger blistering best, and a record Lung BPM of 180, and you have the second single from our fourth album. We can’t wait to play this one live for the first time at the Acid Bath show in Manchester on Thursday. Mind the doors!

Showcasing some cheese, but also a whole lot of cool, Green Lung embrace the macabre in their inimitable style with this high-powered and energetic banger. It’s old-school heavy metal that worships at the feet of the likes of Deep Purple, with flashes of eccentricity, such as an organ solo. It’s looking highly likely that this new album is going to be their most entrancing yet.

i-ATLAS – 3iAtlas

Emerging South Coast UK trio i-ATLAS announce their dynamic debut EP, ‘Beyond the New Horizon’, set for release on Friday 11th September, alongside the release of their striking new single and video, ‘3iAtlas’.

A catchy number with indie rock bounce and groove, i-ATLAS have a contemporary sound that will have widespread appeal. The dynamism in the instrumentals is matched nicely by a rawer vocal style, leaving a positive impression and a desire to hear more.

Fuming Mouth – Cheat Death

Massachusetts metal and hardcore powerhouse Fuming Mouth have released their new single and music video, ‘Cheat Death’, the latest offering from their highly anticipated new album, ‘The Ringing Bell’, due out July 17th via Triple B Records.

Regarding the song, vocalist and guitarist Mark Whelan comments:

This is the opening song on our new album. It was important to me to start it with a blunt and positive message that didn’t beat around the bush. Cheat Death also sets the stage for the journey from death back to life on The Ringing Bell. It was one of our simplest and most fun songs to write.

A chuggy beast of a track that takes a beatdown approach but metallises things so significantly, it’s unrecognisable. Think Nails, but with a bit more groove and plenty of attitude. The guitar solo is a nice touch too.

Della Nova – Don’t Want It

Della Nova return with new single ‘Don’t Want It’, the second release lifted from their forthcoming second album ‘Satori’.

Things are sounding pretty damn fine with Della Nova right now and this banger of a track is further proof of their ever-growing confidence and strength. There’s a meaty grooviness to this one that makes the body shake, rattle, and roll. The more you hear, the more addictive it becomes.

Changing Places in the Fire – Home

Changing Places in the Fire’s new single ‘Home’, is out now. The single is taken from their debut self-titled album, out 24th July via Wild Thing Records.

Says Alfredo Ovalles (Keyboards):

Home reflects on distance, guilt, and memory – on the ghosts that follow long after leaving. It confronts the ache of belonging to a place you can’t fully return to and carrying that absence forward.

Continuing to showcase immense progressive depth, this new single from Changing Places in the Fire is very creative. Especially when it comes to melody and atmosphere. Delivering, arguably, one of their most cinematic sounding efforts to date. It’s a really dynamic listen, and the layers are impressive.

PAVÉ – Taking Control

Manchester alternative quartet PAVÉ are entering a bold new chapter with the release of their new single, ‘Taking Control’. Raw, cathartic and unflinchingly honest, the track tackles burnout, emotional exhaustion and the challenge of finding the strength to keep moving forward when you’re running on empty.

Speaking on the new single, vocalist Alanya Jade shares:

‘Taking Control’ is about knowing another mental battle is coming, but not knowing if you’ve got enough left in the tank to face it. It’s for the people who look fine on the surface while quietly falling apart underneath. At its core, it’s about burnout, feeling trapped in an environment you’re supposed to love, and realising that the people you expected support from are standing by and watching you struggle without stepping in. That feeling can leave you stuck between wanting to hold on and wanting to walk away, and over time it turns into resentment. It’s a song about reaching your limit and one we hope people use to scream their, ‘I deserved better than this.’

Higher and higher they rise, and the noise around them is only going to increase once the wider alt-metal community hears this anthemic effort. Filled with passion, effortlessly energised, and with plenty of intensity, it’s a strong effort from a band pushing the scene forward in style.

The Beautiful Monument – CraveAnythingThatStays

Alternative emo-rock favourites The Beautiful Monument have shared their new single ‘CraveAnythingThatStays’ (CATS) off their long-awaited third album, ‘Euphoric Thriller’, out Friday 7 August via Greyscale Records.

Says vocalist Lizi McIntosh:

A homage to the quietest of family members that help us get through our struggles and wins; the clueless ones that have more of an impact on us as human beings than they will ever realise. We would be nothing without them, people don’t deserve them, yet we are blessed with their very existence. And who doesn’t love Cats…?

A likable foot tapper and body shaker that delivers one hell of an anthemic chorus, The Beautiful Monument are a band well worth paying more attention to. Especially as a song like this comes with plenty of relatable feeling too. You’ll enjoy it more than you might first think.

Kulk – For Blood

Kulk have released their new single ‘For Blood’, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Choosing to Die’, out 28th August via Church Road Records.

Says Kulk:

It’s not often you look back on decisions you’ve made and wished you’d behaved worse. ‘For Blood’ is about how grief can shape the way we respond to the world for years to come. Fearing what someone might do to themselves. You show them restraint, when they deserve fury. It’s difficult to reckon with, regretting kindness, it affects the way you see yourself.

I do like a bit of Kulk, and they’re on a tear at the moment as they build to the release of their new album. This latest effort is a weighty one, but it’s also one with a bit of energy too. A cacophony of coarse noise hits hard across the track’s runtime, but it comes in waves, which makes for a disconcerting listen.

Dead Flesh – Vile Resurrection

London-based deathcore rising stars Dead Flesh have shared their new single, ‘Vile Resurrection’.

Thematically inspired primarily by occult horror films ‘Bring Her Back’ and ‘A Dark Song’, ‘Vile Resurrection’ is a song defined by suffering and loss. The band states:

The track explores the extreme and dangerous lengths someone would go to bring back those they love, while they are completely consumed by grief and desperation. This song represents a fresh start for the band, a rebirth with a new vocalist and a gnarlier sound, a ‘Vile Resurrection’.

A new chapter, but the same old Dead Flesh ferocity, albeit with some gnarlier sounds. The band have picked up nicely where they left off, but as they look to the future, they showcase exciting evolution. Such as intriguing cinematic touches that layers horror throughout. Though, if I’m being honest, I suspect all anyone is going to remember is how heavy a track it is. Dead Flesh are back, reborn, and busting skulls.

Lost Velvet – Right Back

Lost Velvet are carving a space between post-rock atmosphere, shoegaze haze, and industrial unease with a sound that feels vast, intimate, and slightly unhinged. They release their debut album ‘Dark Cells’ on Friday 4th September, led by their new single and video, ‘Right Back’.

Laidback and dreamy, Lost Velvet showcase a unique approach to music with this intriguing single. It’s hard to categorise just what it is, and the indefinability ensures at least one or two curiosity listens to begin with. It’s through this that the song’s form begins to take shape and the more you listen to it, the more infectious it becomes.

Ignea – Dreams of Lands Unseen

Ukrainian modern metal band Ignea have released ‘Dreams of Lands Unseen’, the first single from their upcoming album, ‘Monumental’, out 23rd October via Napalm Records. The track shares a name with the four-piece’s 2023 album but is a step towards something new. ‘Dreams of Lands Unseen’ explores the race to space during the Cold War and a time when war-ridden humanity projected its greatest hopes into the cosmos far beyond our known worlds.

Vocalist Helle Bohdanova comments:

This song is about the blend of ambition and illusion, where space wasn’t an escape but a conquest shaped by ideology and dreams. Across Ukraine and many post-Soviet countries, mosaics still depict this promised future: cosmonauts, rockets, bold visions of worlds yet unseen. We shot the video in black and white on purpose, reaching for the vibe of old sci-fi rather than modern blockbuster spectacle, using Cooke Varotal lenses, the optics favored by Kubrick. In the end, I think the song isn’t nostalgic for space exploration itself, so much as for an aesthetic that was itself already nostalgic, looking back at a future that was already passing. Still, I guess each of us has dreamt of becoming an astronaut at least once… haven’t you?

It’s good to have them back and back with something as high-powered and intense as this. Is this Ignea at their heaviest? It sure feels like it, but their expression inevitably stands out in other ways too. Namely the experimental melodies they offer, the symphonic touches, and drama. Hell, there’s even a theremin, how cool is that!?

Din of Celestial Birds – From This Summit We Can See the Heavens & Stars

Din Of Celestial Birds scale the heights to release their epic new single ‘From This Summit We Can See the Heavens & Stars’ – the second taste of their forthcoming sophomore album ‘Takeoffs & Landings’, out August 7th.

Staggering. Gorgeous. Haunting. Emotional. Powerful. Pick a sensory adjective, and chances are that it will perfectly summarise this new Din of Celestial Birds. A track that sees the band take an unhurried approach to melodrama and melodic intensity, until it’s time to unleash wailing passion, emphatic post heaviness, and elaborate technicality. It’s a spectacle of a track.
