Behemoth – I, Scvlptor
Polish extreme metal legends, Behemoth, unleash ‘I, Scvlptor’, the first single from their new studio release, I, Scvlptor.
Nergal commented on the new single:
‘I, Scvlptor’ is a new Behemoth song rooted in the tradition of monumental tracks like ‘O Father O Satan O Sun!’, ‘Lucifer’ or ‘Nieboga Czarny Xiądz’, while at the same time opening a new chapter. It carries that epic weight but also takes an unexpected turn that makes it feel fresh and different from the previous pieces. Lyrically, it is a metaphor for the endless process of shaping oneself – an uneven struggle with matter and personal limitations. The paradox is that from the moment we are born we are already destined to die, so perhaps it is not about victory itself, but about the constant act of sculpting who we are.
The theatrical side to Behemoth, the one that embraces horror, is always interesting and this new track comes with sinister and cinematic vibes oozing out of every pore. Personally, I dig it, especially when it comes with blackened groove that adds musicality to evil tones. It’s a direction that suits the band so much better, so here’s hoping that the rest of the new album is in the same vein.
Yersin – Steel Noose (feat. Juho Räihä of Swallow the Sun)
Hailing from the barren Sundered Lands of the Northeast, Yersin come back to the table with their third release, the ‘Born Alone, Die Alone’ EP. Out July 10th, 2026. The new single, ‘Steel Noose’, is out now and it features Juho Räihä.
Firstly, big up Swallow the Sun’s Juho Räihä who delivers a blistering guitar solo here. Secondly, big up Yersin, who somehow sound heavier and nastier than ever. Akin to being slapped so hard around the head that you’re left with a concussion. It’s so intense, and an underlying touch of groove is welcome, even if all anyone will remember is how it left their ears ringing for hours afterwards.

Battlesnake – I Killed Satan
Maverick Aussie rockers Battlesnake have unveiled a video for their new single ‘I Killed Satan’.
The band comment:
The song I Killed Satan is about killing Satan and the video is proof that we did kill Satan.
You know it’s going to fun, you know it’s going to be weird, and it’s probably going to be noteworthy, but good? That’s Battlesnake for you and this track embodies their wide-ranging abilities with notable aplomb. It’s all over the place, and that is a problem, but it does have addictive qualities. Least of all the maddening middle part.
Dear Youth – Illusion (feat. Beth from As December Falls)
Pop rock band. Dear Youth, have released their new single ‘Illusion’ featuring Beth from As December Falls, out 19th June via Adventure Cat Records.
Says the band:
Illusions capture the rush of an undeniable connection that feels too real to ignore. Set in a haze of late night tension and unspoken attraction, it follows the feeling of wanting someone you can’t quite have while searching for signs they might want you too. Blurring the line between fantasy and reality, it’s an intoxicating mix of longing, obsession, and the hope that the moment never ends.
I like this. It’s bright and starry, catchy and synthy, and the kind of track that will have immediate appeal to a wide array of people. Poppy, rocky, and pop-punky, it creates a magnetic pull that is hard to deny and, of course, Beth sounds amazing too.

Son of Boar – The Hunt
Son of Boar, the stoner doom outfit from the North of England, have released ‘The Hunt’, a retelling of the infamous Bradford Boar tale.
A track that impressively tells a captivating tale in succinct and immersive fashion, this is the side to Son of Boar that shows depth, especially as it doesn’t heavy up until around the two-minute mark. At that point, it’s a crashing and smashing beast filled with feeling, exemplified by haunting vocal howls. A very unique track.

Burner – Blood River
Out via Church Road Records, ‘Blood River’ is the new single from Burner. The second single taken from their forthcoming album ‘No One Is Coming to Save Us’, which is slated for release 25th September.
Explains Harry (vocals):
Blood River is about cycles of violence, throughout history and across time: rivers of blood that have flowed before in conflict and will flow again. That no matter how much a confident warrior might think, there’s nothing you can truly do to stop someone fighting back – and thus, we will always have war, scarring the land and time itself.
Here’s the track that shows just how far this band has come over the past few years. Taking chaos and carnage and controlling it in elaborate ways, while exploring creative directions that would have seemed alien to them a few years ago. This isn’t just an intense track with teeth rattling heaviness, it’s a clever track with a wide range of sounds and styles on display, and the chorus will turn heads.
sunbleached – Slow Burn
Brisbane alt-rock outfit sunbleached have unveiled their new single ‘Slow Burn’, a track that explores the blurry, undefined space between friendship and relationship, out now via Community Music.
Speaking on the track, vocalist Josh Baker explains:
The line ‘crack myself in two for you’ came from feeling split between real life and whatever version of myself existed inside a phone talking to somebody all the time. I wrote it from that feeling of being completely wrapped up in someone while still existing in this strange in-between space where nobody really knows what’s going on except the two people in it.
Their sound is clearly evolving, and they’re experimenting with heavier ideas, but what’s most impressive is how none of this means the feeling they inject into their music is lost. In fact, it might be even more potent, and this track showcases that perfectly. Dramatic and intense, but catchy too. They’re a band that everyone should be paying more attention to.

Boundaries – May this pain never leave
Boundaries have unveiled ‘May this pain never leave’, from their new album, ‘Yearning: the unbeautiful after’, out 17th July via Sumerian Records.
I am loving Boundaries current output, and this chaotic blast of ferocity and heaviness is right up my street. Even when it slips into more recognisable metalcore territories, it still has a hell of a lot of potency, thanks to the guttural vocals and fiery riffs.

Kelowna – Insanity
Scottish rock band Kelowna will release their debut album, ‘Superstar’, everywhere on Friday 28th August. Ahead of this, the band have released the new single and video, ‘Insanity’.
Groove-infused riff-driven rock, Kelowna are a band with plenty of appeal, and it all comes down to the infectious nature of a track like this. Where classic rock elements meet big sounding melodies, creating something you can move to, but also something with feeling in it.
Save Us – Death to Something
Hotly tipped transglobal outfit Save Us have announced their debut album, ‘Death to Something’, arriving October 16th via Solid State Records, alongside the release of the title track.
Exciting news as I think we can all agree that Save Us are on one hell of an upward trajectory. Yet I’m not sure they’ve ever sounded this tender and thought-provoking. Delivering something that has notable freshness, is challenging, and feels forward thinking. It’s a very cool track.

Holding Absence – Lucid Love
South Wales trio Holding Absence have released new single, ‘Lucid Love’, taken from their forthcoming fourth album, ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’, released on August 28th via new label partner Sumerian Records.
I’m not sure this is going to go down as a high point of the new album, as I will admit to finding myself a bit bored listening to it. The problem lies in the fact that it’s pretty pedestrian, unoffensive, and lacking fire. Holding Absence are a great band, and this, by most standards, isn’t a bad song, but their standards are a hell of a lot higher, hence why I think it’s fairly mundane.

Sea Sleeper – Lunar Degenerates
Sea Sleeper return with their new single, ‘Lunar Degenerates’, the latest preview of their forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Burden of Antlers’, set for release on September 18th, 2026.
On a creative tear with this album, Sea Sleeper’s latest single is impressively weird and wonderful. As likely to crush the mind as it is to encourage it to soar, the unconventional structure makes for a fascinating listen, and it’s one you’ll find you keep coming back to time and time again, if just to understand it a little better.
Allt – Omertà
Swedish progressive metalcore outfit Allt have unveiled their new single ‘Omertà’. Taken from the new album, ‘Ataraxia’, out 31st July via Century Media Records.
Allt’s Robin Malmgren (vocals) comments:
‘Omertà’ is about knowing better and doing it anyway.
I think it’s safe to say that this new Allt album will be a varied one, and that there will be tons of people who like this track, compared to those who don’t. Alas, I find it to be a flawed effort that doesn’t capture what makes Allt special. It’s generic metalcore with boring infusions of electronica and melody, lacking passion and authentic intensity.

Scarlet Rebels – This Is Happening Now
Scarlet Rebels have announced their new album, ‘Flawed by Design’, set for release on November 13th, 2026, via Earache Records. The album is introduced by new single ‘This Is Happening Now’, a track inspired by the uncertainty and division of modern life.
It’s exciting to have them back, and back with an immediately lovable effort. Scarlet Rebels are one of the UK’s finest rockers, and once again, they give us something infectious and something with tons of heart and soul. The chorus will be jammed in the mind for hours afterwards.
Bleeker – Something on You
Bleeker have unveiled their brand-new single, ‘Something on You’, the latest track to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘Elephant’, due for release on 4th September 2026 via Known Accomplice.
Speaking on the new single, vocalist Taylor Perkins shares:
Something On You is 3 of 5 members of Bleeker’s favorite song on the album! We pulled this song together almost like a Frankenstein but in the end we just loved it. We tend to write a lot about resilience and that’s present this one for sure. I think that comes from a few different parts of who we are, how we were raised, our go to work ethic and partly the various ups and downs we’ve faced as a band.
A very creative tune with tons of bounce and danceable qualities, this new Bleeker track is absurdly infectious. It’s the kind of track that makes you feel good, putting a bit of pep into the step as it plays out. Fun, a bit silly, but with tons of heart and soul, it’s a track you don’t forget easily.

Seven Blood – Burst into Flames
Germany-based alternative outfit Seven Blood have returned, sharing their new single and music video for ‘Burst into Flames’. The track is the first new music from the band since the release of their self-released 2025 debut album, Life Is Just a Phase.
On the new single, vocalist Azaria Nasiri comments:
When we started writing ‘Burst in Flames’, I was thinking about those ‘cloudy days’ when you feel like you’re disappearing into the background of your own story—as if your life is being narrated by everyone but you. Sadly, people love to decide who you are and what you’re capable of before you’ve even had a chance to figure it out for yourself. It feels especially cruel when you are struggling and, instead of reaching out, others choose to ‘build a coffin’ around you.
This song is for anyone who has been counted out. It’s for the moments when you realise that you are enough and that you carry a fire inside. Let them watch the fire rage. Don’t let them pull you under!
On course to be one of the biggest and brightest bands in alternative rock and metal, Seven Blood’s return comes with excitement and expectation, and they do not disappoint. Delivering a glorious showcase of drama, authenticity, and intensity via soaring melodies, soulful vocals, and elaborate instrumental passages.

Motionless in White – R.I.P. (Feat. Skylar Grey)
Platinum-selling, Scranton, PA powerhouse Motionless in White will release their new album ‘Decades’ on July 17th via Roadrunner Records. The first single, ‘R.I.P.’ (Feat. Skylar Grey), is out now.
Have you heard a Motionless in White song before? If so, then you won’t really be too surprised by what you hear. The band have a sound and style, and they have become one of the giants of metal with it, so a gothic metalcore love song is right up their street. It’s solid, more likely to impress their hardcore fanbase then win them new listeners, but I suspect we’re looking at one of the biggest albums of the year, regardless.
