2020 Single Slam

Single Slam: Brexriff by Solars

31/05/202030/05/2020 Carl Fisher

Solars are an instrumental post-rock band from Birmingham, UK. They will be releasing a brand-new single called ‘Brexriff’ on June 5th 2020. As well as a video to accompany the track on the same day.

Solars make up for that title by delivering a delightful slice of instrumental post-metal. A track that combines an eerie soundscape with robust riffs and methodical rhythm that effectively evolves across its near 5-minute runtime. The melody cold and distant but not uncomfortable to listen too. Then in an instant, the grip is tightened as the guitars really begin to lean into the post sound.

Heavier and more concentrated but not wildly different to what had been experienced up to that point. It’s very good and like a flame on a candle suddenly snuffed out, the track ends and you’re left wanting more.

Which is surely the best sign.
