1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

We are Helldown, originally starting off as a thrash band, taking inspiration from the big 4. We later evolved our sound and style, with new influences paving the way to what you can hear in our latest release “March of the Damned” coming 12th July 2024.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

We would say to imagine Slayer, Machine Head & Lamb of God combined with aggression and drive.

3. What’s currently going on in your camp? New releases? Tours? Etc.

We have recently released 2 singles called “Beneath the Veil” & “War is All”, and on the run up to our upcoming 2024 UK Tour, we have been promoting our forthcoming release and 3rd single of 2024 “March of the Damned”, with a further 2 releases dropping before 2025.

4. What has been the most positive experience of making music to date for you?

The most positive experiences for us are usually the most recent project we commit to, and in this case that would be our 2024 releases.

We have had such great responses from those who have listened and watched the accompanying music videos, which makes us just want to create and release more … watch this space!

5. Likewise, what has been some of the more challenging aspects and how have you overcome them?

There are so many challenging aspects to being in a band that are doing their utmost to get noticed, and all of them are as challenging as the other.

The most recent example of a struggle was not the writing and recording of the latest singles, but the coordination, time and money it took to put everything together for flawless releases, and this is made mucher greater when you have no backing or guidance like many larger bands have at their disposal.

6. How do you handle the modern expectations of being in a band? Always online, having to put out content constantly, your success measured in likes and follows?

Social media has always been the future for the music scene, and we are sure it will evolve again, where a new platform emerges and we will have to adapt like we did when TikTok became the replacement for many other platforms.

It is definitely at the top of the most challenging aspects of being in a band, especially when you want to be entertaining people from a stage and not from a small screen.

It is heartbreaking when you find an artist that has made it from following a trend on social media that has only been going for a couple of months.

7. What’s something that really ‘grinds your gears’ about the industry/business these days and what would you propose is done to combat it?

Something that really grinds our gears is the lack of acknowledgement heavy metal gets in the industry, some of the most talented, hardworking people play heavy metal and it’s often overlooked and dismissed.

The only way we can think to combat it, is to shove metal in everyone’s faces and be a constant presence, kick the doors down of the mainstream industry and make ourselves known!

8. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask them to do to help support your music?

Come to our live shows and show your support, this is where we want to be and we can only do this with you.

9. Outside of the music, what do you do to relax?

We all have our own hobbies and goals, but a lot of our day to day revolves around Helldown, and after putting over 10 years of our lives into it so far, it’s become difficult to disconnect.

When we do get days off, we spend it most of it working in order to fund the band, and when we do get time off, we spend it studying, gaming, spending time with our loved ones and going to the gym.

10. Where can people find you?

You can find us and our music on all major platforms including:
