1. Hello! Welcome back. It’s been a little while, so first things first, how are you and have there been any significant changes since we last spoke?

I’m doing well, thank you! In the last year there have been exciting developments for ELOAĦ. Most notably, we’ve finalized the LP release of The Book of Pain, which marks a milestone as it’s our very first vinyl pressing. Additionally, we’ve welcomed Zarja Medved, a talented viola and violin player, to the band. Her contributions have added a rich, emotional layer to our music, and she’s already integral to our creative process.

2. So, what’s new? What’s keeping you busy this time around? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?

The biggest news is the release of The Book of Pain as a limited edition LP. This is a special moment for us—it’s our first-ever vinyl release, limited to 200 red vinyl pieces. It’s not just a collector’s item but a testament to the album’s emotional depth and significance. We’re also working on a new album, which will explore themes of the cosmos, consciousness, the universe, and even mundane yet reflective moments, like mowing the lawn. It’s an exciting shift that pushes our creative boundaries.

3. Describe what fans/listeners can expect.

With The Book of Pain, listeners can expect an introspective journey into the depths of human emotion. Each track serves as a chapter exploring grief, love, resilience, and existential reflection. Songs like “A Spark of Darkness,” inspired by the loss of my dear friend Michael Görig, and “We Shall Rise,” a hopeful anthem of renewal, showcase the spectrum of emotions that define the album. As we move forward, the upcoming album will take listeners on a more cosmic and philosophical journey, blending the ethereal with the grounded.

4. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you to see it come to fruition?

The Book of Pain is deeply personal, born from experiences of loss and introspection. It’s not just a collection of songs but an artistic expression of my emotional and personal development. Every track reflects a moment of vulnerability or transformation, whether it’s confronting grief, celebrating resilience, or seeking meaning in suffering. The LP release is a culmination of this journey, offering a tangible, timeless form for fans to connect with our music on a deeper level.

5. Sum up what this latest development says about you and where you find yourself at this moment in time?

This LP release symbolizes a maturing phase in my creative journey. It represents a commitment to authenticity and depth, capturing where I am emotionally and artistically. The band has grown stronger, and this milestone is a reflection of how far we’ve come together as a collaborative entity.

6. Has the time since we last spoke been a mostly positive period and has there been any one thing that stands out as being good?

Yes, it has been a positive period. The addition of Zarja Medved has been a standout moment. Her improvisational and interpretational prowess during the recording sessions brought an emotional depth to songs like “Void” and “Arson Attack (Suffering of Prometheus pt. I)” enriching the overall sound of The Book of Pain. Seeing her become an integral part of the band has been incredibly rewarding.

7. How about something that has challenged you since we last spoke? Has there been any particular thing that tested you, and if so, how did you overcome it?

Balancing the deeply personal themes of The Book of Pain with the need to connect them universally was a challenge. It required me to revisit painful memories and transform them into something meaningful. The collaborative spirit of the band, helped me navigate this process and ultimately create something I’m proud of.

8. What is a realistic goal you’d like to achieve over the next 12 months?

Our primary goal is to celebrate the release of The Book of Pain’s LP edition, ensuring it reaches listeners who appreciate its emotional and artistic depth. Beyond that, we’re fully immersed in creating a new album that will blend cosmic themes with everyday experiences, exploring consciousness and the universe in a reflective yet approachable way. For instance, the album will include a song about physics, one about gardening, and another about murine life on another planet…
