Interview: Anja (Vocals/Guitar) of A.N.J.A. (Video/Audio)
Belfast-based horror garage punk band A.N.J.A., known for their explosive live performances and unapologetically raw sound, has released their newest single, ‘When You’re The Worst You’re The Best’, just in time for a rebellious Valentine’s Day celebration.
The track, a fiery and unapologetic anthem of fearless rebellion, dives into love’s darker, wilder side. Featuring groovy garage riffs, nonchalant yet volcanic vocals, and provocative lyrics. It’s both a celebration of chaotic passion and a call to embrace glorious debauchery. This track cements A.N.J.A.’s status as one of the most dynamic punk acts in the Irish scene.
We spoke to Anja, the vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of the band, about the new single and how it came about. Delving into the sexy and seedy side of its inspiration, while also learning more about the history of A.N.J.A. as a whole. We also talk about the Irish scene, being a DIY band, the live experience and why it matters, and so much more.
