Horror Short Review: OnlyFans 2 (2023)

It is a notable shift in the ACMofficial and writer/director Alex Magaña template with OnlyFans 2. A horror short that comes in at around 10 minutes long. Which, for this constant creator of shorts, is a downright epic length.

The first OnlyFans was an interesting short that played on the real-life horror of having yourself exposed online. Playing on the dangers of the internet and how anonymity has emboldened the worst of society. Playing on the situations that people get into when they are desperate. It was one of the stronger ACMoffficial horror shorts.

OnlyFans 2 has a similar story. Olivia (Molly Harris) is desperate for money. Her car is to be repossessed and her landlord is demanding the rent. Believing that she has no more options, she joins an adult cam site (it should be noted that the real OnlyFans isn’t actually seen or advertised).

Going live, she gets a viewer who begins to message her and she reveals to ‘user1234’ that she has no idea what she is doing. This anonymous person begins to pile the compliments on, making small requests for small amounts of money. Such as putting on red lipstick, taking her hair down, and changing outfits. Something that Olivia is happy to do as the money continues to roll in.

Of course, just like the first short, this starts to take a darker turn as the requests become more and more offbeat. With more and more money on offer, Olivia finds it hard to say no. When your desperate, you become an easy target to control.

It’s when Olivia refuses to participate in a request that OnlyFans 2 diverts its story. The anonymous user revealing that he knows who she is, where she lives, and that he has invited some friends. Let the bidding begin.

Initially, OnlyFans 2 looks like it is going to be a complete rehash of the original’s psychological-based story but thankfully, it does go in its own direction. One that deals with heavy subjects and the massive pitfalls of ‘selling’ yourself online. Control can be lost so easily, as this short showcases.

It’s a strong follow-up and that proves ACMofficial has plenty to offer beyond the 2-3 minute jump-scare-laden entries they normally put out.
