By Virtue Fall Announce New Single/Video ‘Death’s Hand’ Out On October 31st – Halloween Show November 1st!
It’s been a very good year for Norwich, UK, metalcore band By Virtue Fall who released their debut single, then spent the earlier part of the year competing in the Bloodstock East Anglia Metal 2 the Masses competition, winning it, and then going on to play at Bloodstock festival on the New Blood stage.
A much-lauded live showing that is still being talked about today and keen to keep the momentum going, By Virtue Fall will be releasing their brand-new single, ‘Death’s Hand’ on October 31st, 2024, alongside ‘a live-shot-at-Bloodstock music video’.
Speaking about the new single, the band shared the following:
We wanted to create something that hits hard and fast, but still sticks in your head with a catchy chorus. Nailing the balance between aggression and melody. Writing it was a blast; it came together so naturally too. Traf (guitarist) had been reliving his Ill Niño and Coal Chamber phase while writing it, and their heavy grooves definitely helped shaped the riffs. At the same time, he already had this lead hook in mind for the chorus, so it was about finding a way to blend that raw heaviness with a melody that felt anthemic.
It’s one of the newer tracks on the upcoming EP, and in many ways, it captures the essence of where we are right now as a band. It has this perfect blend of our evolving, heavier direction, but still carries the melodic undertones that have always been part of our sound. It’s like a bridge between where we’ve been and where we’re heading, and it feels like an honest reflection of our growth and what’s inspiring us right now.
We’re really proud of the music video for Death’s Hand. It was filmed live at Bloodstock as part of our set on the New Blood stage by the incredibly talented Riccardo Cenci who we’ve been working with since the festival. To be honest, we’d originally planned for it to be a fully live recording, but technology let us down and we weren’t able to capture the board-mix to accompany it. However, were able to quickly pivot to turning it to a full-fledged music video and we’re thrilled with how it’s come out! We think it really captures the energy we put into that, and every, performance. Most of all, it’s a fantastic showcase of Matt & Gamble’s long-hair, slow-mo headbanging skills.
That’s not all though. On November 1st, the band will also be playing a very special live show in their hometown of Norwich. Playing alongside the phenomenal Collapse the Sky at Voodoo Daddy as part of an annual Halloween show. This promises to be a very special show with the possibility of a few tricks and treats throughout the night.
To tell us more, the band shared this about the show:
We’re really good friends with Collapse the Sky and can’t wait to share the stage with them again. Excitingly though, we have a run of limited edition merchandise that has just dropped in tandem with the release of ‘Death’s Hand’ and this will only be available from now until the 1st November, so your last chance to snag it will be at that gig and then it’s gone forever!
We’ve had some incredible support since launching our Big Cartel by some amazing fans so wanted to do something for those that have been part of the journey, by offering something that will never be available again!
We may also be planning a special Halloween-only surprise as part of our set!
There appears to be no stopping By Virtue Fall, but who would want to considering their hefty metalcore noise is fantastic, and their reputation for stellar live shows is growing. The future is looking very bright, and to confirm this, the band had this to say:
There’s a lot happening behind the scenes right now that we’re really excited about but can’t quite reveal just yet. What we can say is that this single is definitely part of a much bigger picture that we’ll be sharing soon. The track will be featured on our upcoming EP, which is set to drop early next year. We’ve poured everything into this record, collaborating with our incredible producer and engineer, Tom Joy, to make sure both the single and the EP are the best they can be. We honestly can’t wait for people to hear what we’ve been working on!
