Bloodstock 2021 Band Feature: Battle Born
Time to squeeze into that old loincloth, grab some baby oil, dust off the sword and raise it high… Battle Born have sent the call out. The call to join them on their march to bring the metal back.
Battle Born are a five-piece power metal band from Windhelm, Eastmarch who exploded onto the scene in 2020 with their self-titled debut EP. They’re a band you might hear or see and think you A) know exactly what kind of band they are and B) that they’ve been around a long time.
You might be right about A (power metal) but you’re sure to be wrong about B. Though, since their inception, they’re already pulled in a sizable fanbase with their grittier take on synth-laden Finnish style power metal.
We thoroughly enjoyed the self-titled EP and had this to say about it:
On this EP’s showing Battle Born are going to be a band to keep a very close eye on. The UK power metal scene is becoming a force to be reckoned with and few won’t want to be on the journey with bands like this.
They will be running wild on the New Blood Stage on the Thursday of the festival and it’s sure to be epic. Don’t take our word for it though, the band had this to say:
