Band Interview: Mossie

Games, Brrraaains & Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with indie rock band, Mossie!

1. How did you get started as a band?

So lead singer Adam Lavant and Adam Monroe met at an open mic night and started doing music as a duo. We then cheery picked a couple of guys we knew already played in bands that we wanted. Mossie was born! We all have a similar taste in music and know what sound we want to run through out stuff.

2. How would you describe your sound?

We are very music Indie Rock, we have influences from music from the 70’s and 80’s and you will hear that run though our music. We want to write our own style of music and something to identify us by but I guess the music you listen to might always have an influence subconsciously.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

Hhhhmmmm that’s a tough one. . .Our favourite bands to name a few are Rolling Stones, Stone Roses, Oasis, Arctic Monkey, Ocean Colour Scene, White Stripes, Fleetwood Mac. . . . . Quite a range of styles I guess, whether you can hear any of that in our tunes is up to you guys I guess!

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

As we’re pretty new to the scene, it’s probably helped, any simple way to get your music out there is a bonus I’d say. Were currently working on releasing a song that will have a music video on YouTube and be released on all music platforms.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

Probably hitting the pub! Haha Why not, here for a good time not a long time!

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

We have many gigs and will be touring our upcoming EP. We’ve been hard at work writing music over the last 6 months and that’s not going to ease up over the next 12 month I reckon. Until our Album is ready. Feel free to check out Facebook or Instagram to get our gig dates! Cheers! Peace!
