Album Review: The Devil Wears Nada – In Lust We Thrust (Eonian Records)

Swedish melodic rock force The Devil Wears Nada are back with their sophomore album, ‘In Lust We Thrust’, out on July 10th, 2026, via Eonian Records.

Do you like 70s and 80s rock blended with glam metal and given a notable injection of the macabre? Of course you do! Who doesn’t! Well, the good news is that The Devil Wears Nada embodies all of this (and more), and across eleven tracks, deliver a groovy, energetic, theatrical, sleazy, and fun listen.

Sometimes downright brilliant, sometimes just a bit all right, but always memorable, it’s a record with plenty of appeal.

It starts off very strongly too. Following a sinister introduction called 96.2 FM Postalgia Radio, the melodic energy is high with the infectious Brat with a Baseball Bat. Here, The Devil Wears Nada showcase just how easy anthems come to them with a high energy effort that has tons of synth-infused melody. However, the first track I really felt myself seduced by was Last Forever. An inviting effort that leans into poppier territories with some starry synth and light rock energy. Aside from the modern production job, it could be so easy to believe that this track comes straight from the 80s.

I love that one, but I’m also given a happy boost via the banging title track, which lives up to its thrusting title, and the cheeky Dead & Breakfast, with its catchy synth and horror twist.

A lot of my love of this record comes from their use of synth and how retro it makes things sound. Something that is kept consistent throughout so come the end; I found myself as invested as I was at the start. Especially when things are kept catchy with the likable Wednesday and infectious Ms. Black Widow.
