Hull’s 6 Music and KCRW-supported psych-rock outfit, The Black Delta Movement will release their debut album, ‘Preservation’, via Clubbed Thumb Records on August 3, 2018.
The Black Delta Movement have already released ‘Let The Rain Come’ from the album and you can check out the video below. We had the following to say about that song in our review:
“A groovy little track, its rock and roll vibes sit well amongst a psychedelic sound with flashes of increased hard rock pace. Incredibly catchy but with a DIY style production. Let the Rain Come’s simplified rhythm hides deeper and more satisfying riffs alongside unmistakable British vocals.”
Ten wickedly fun rock and roll tracks built around soulful vocals and bundles of melody. Kicking off with the groovy tune of Rome, it gets the mouth salivating for the delicious meal that is to follow.
Hunting Ground and its choppy sound goes some way to satisfying before King Mosquito delivers an explosion of flavour with a fast-paced and super catchy rhythm. This is the stuff that makes The Black Delta Movement something pretty special.
Not to say anything bad about the slower stuff. Deceit is an exceptionally sexy sounding track, Hot Coals’ deep bass groove leaves an impression and lead single, Let the Rain Come remains an absolute highlight.
There is so much to enjoy here in Preservation and the longer it goes on the more connected you’ll feel with it as a whole. The latter few songs deliver as much quality as found at the start. The country twang of For You, the foot-tapping and body shaking beat of No End and huge rock epic that is Butterfly. A simply fantastic finale that caps off a truly exceptional rock record.
