Released on September 12th 2017, SenzaVita I is the new album from Italian metal band, SenzaVita.
There is a certain roughness to SenzaVita I giving it a dirty underground feel. The opener Necronomicon brings some heavy thrash-lite elements alongside some killer riffing & surprisingly clean vocals.
The more rhythmic La Fanteria brings the Italian lyrics to the forefront, something that really shouldn’t put off listeners who don’t speak it off. It’s a great language & lends itself well to the album as a whole.
The feedback present in Inferno gives the melody driven track a little extra edge but it’s the guitars that really shine here. As they do in the sudden chugging blasts of Leonida & the up-tempo Parabellum! The solo in the latter is stunning.
One of the most enjoyable things about SenzaVita I is that it blends melody with rhythmic metal so well. It doesn’t need to be throwing blasting metal at you constantly, it has enough heavy groove in the riffs & drums to offset the softer vocals.
Nowhere is that more present than on the final track, Sepolto Vivo! A finale (sort of) that adds an air of desperation to the singing but also throws in an exciting solo to bring the sound together perfectly.
Being only 7 tracks long, we also get two demos added to the end, Se io dovessi ritornare & the self-titled, SenzaVita. Such a good album, such an enjoyable listen that excites & intrigues every single second of its run time.
