Album Review: Pothamus – Raya (Consouling Agency)

01/12/202022/11/2020 Carl 'The Disc' Fisher Album Review, Consouling Agency, Post-Metal, Pothamus, Raya

Belgian sludge/post-metal newcomers Pothamus will release their debut album “Raya” on December 4th 2020 in collaboration with Consouling Agency.

Every band wants to transport you to the dimension their music inhabits. Every band wants to have you wrapped up so much in their music that time itself seems to just disappear and the mind becomes engorged on what is being served up. It’s what every band wants but few bands can deliver that experience.

One such band that can is Pothamus who bring forth a monumental otherworldly effort with their debut, Raya. Where the glacial drone chills allowing the mire to creep up and consume suddenly. Moving melodic passages, crushing volumes of metal, wraithlike post sounds… Raya will entrance.

Creating vivid landscapes, dreamy meanderings through space and sharp spurts of reality sucking heaviness across 6 tracks and around 54 minutes. It’s a musical experience that will stay with you long after the final notes have played out.

Pothamus – Raya Full Track Listing:

1. Orath
2. Viso
3. Heravis I
4. Heravis II
