Album Review: Perveration – Perversion In Manifest Disease (Comatose Music)

Perveration have drawn back the curtain that shrouds the inner sanctums of the grotesque and repugnant. With their debut full length album Perversion In Manifest Disease they fling the listener, screaming, into the pit of horrors that bubbles and thrives in the fetid darkness behind the facade.

Where else but Comatose Music would Perveration find a home? Together these explorers of extremity will release Perversion in Manifest Disease out into the world on November 19th, 2021.

An album that can be simply summed up with those iconic three words – brutal death metal. Perversion in Manifest Disease is every bit the savage experience you might expect from a band called Perveration and an album called Perversion in Manifest Disease. However, your expectations still can’t prepare for just how brutal the album is.

Bookended with the sounds of suffering, it is an apt intro/outro to what Perveration unleash. Once they get going, they don’t let up. Battering away with all their BDM might over 9-tracks of abhorrence and revulsion.

Fans of extreme, the most extreme, will lap this up. Perveration are the personification of nasty, vile, and sickening sounds. Instrumentation that has very little rhythmic quality but pounds away with all the force of a demonic army marching through humanities last days. Then there are the vocals that sound dredged up from some deep, dark and squelchy hole at the bottom of a dried-up lake.

Put them together and you have the repugnance of Perversion in Manifest Disease. Far more lovable than you would expect. Simply because extreme metal this hard, harsh and heavy never fails to put a smile on the face.
