Album Review: Nomasta – House of the Tiger King (Self Released)

House of the Tiger King is the debut album from Leeds based metal band, Nomasta. The killer album will be released on November 3rd 2017.

A soft guitar melody leads into a meaty drum beat & pissed off throat-tearing vocals before the pace is quickened moving from Death Rattles into The Book Burners seamlessly.

Mixing high tempo metal riffs with both clean & dirty vocals, a thumping drum beat & a lot of sonic brutality. House of the Tiger King is a hell of an offering from Nomasta. Super catchy metal rhythm with the occasional offering of melody may not new but when it’s this damn good, that hardly matters.

There’s a certain elegance to the album. Especially with tracks likes of Sir Impaler & Alchematic. The former a track that threatens to give you whiplash as you bang your head wildly while the latter showcases just how easily Nomasta spit out hooky melodic metal.

Be it hard & heavy aggressive metal such as the super-fast This Trail Has Got the Best of Us or the more melody driven Dawnbreaker, this is an album that keeps on delivering. A modern metal album that gives us plenty of huge riffs, hooks that dig deep, melody that stands out & plenty of booming heaviness to keep you coming back for more.
