EP Review: Beyond Grace – Welcome to the New Dark Ages, Part 3 (Self Released)
Death metal-core quartet Beyond Grace return with the final part of their ‘Welcome to the New Dark Ages’ EP trilogy. ‘Welcome to the New Dark Ages, Part 3’ is set for release on the 30th of July 2026.

The heaviest one of the bunch? There’s certainly a notable uptick in intensity on the opening track Radium Angels. Beyond Grace have always been able to distil their anger, frustrations, and passions down, but this one sounds like all of that is beginning to boil over. Some clean vocals add a more harmonious touch, but the combination of crashing drumbeats, raging riffs, and guttural fury is what sticks in the mind. Especially as Bethany of Transgressive adds even more potency towards the end.
All three tracks are blistering showcases of expressive savagery, but the one that hits the hardest might be Reign of Error (about the corruption of the rich and powerful). Not only is it a brutal example of death metal, but it comes with hefty ‘core’ twists that have a beatdown vibe. I love it and can see it causing utter carnage at a live show.
Finally, it’s First As Tragedy, an immense ending that transforms from being wild, uncouth, and aggressive into a sobering, epic, and adventurously dramatic listen. It’s not even that long, so the transition is even more impressive, and it certainly has impact.
I’ve enjoyed this trilogy and find this to be a thoroughly satisfying finish, especially as Reign of Error is up there as one of their strongest tracks across the EP run. It’s viciousness with a point, not just heavy for the sake of being heavy, and with dynamism that keeps you coming back for more.
