EP Review: Paleface Swiss – The wilted (Bloodblast Distribution)

Happy New Year you lovely lot! Talk about starting things off in style. It’s Paleface Swiss and they have a new EP. Just in case you thought 2025 wasn’t a hot enough year for the Swiss band, they’re hitting the ground running. The wilted EP was released Jan 2nd, 2025, via Bloodblast Distribution.

My goodness, what a year they had and a lot of their late-year success can be attributed to most of the tracks on this EP. With each single drop not only solidifying their heavy reputation but showing what the future of Paleface Swiss might sound like. They’re evolving and diversifying their sound, and it’s only going to help them grow bigger and bigger.

Following a sobering phone message that hits hard, things explode in chaotic fashion with the stompy and heavy intensity of Withering Flower. A track that bridges the gap between what the band were doing on Cursed and what they’re doing now. Familiar, but with fresh touches of melody and an overall anthemic edge that culminates with a gut busting and head spinning breakdown.

It’s Paleface Swiss sounding sharper than ever, and their feral side is on point again with Let Me Sleep. The scream of ‘let me sleep’ sounding the alarm for a manic and mental explosion of infectious heaviness. Whereas a collaboration with Stick to Your Guns creates something fiery and groovy. It features plenty of that Paleface ferocity, plenty of Guns’ metalcore bounce, and plenty that combines the best of both styles.

Finally, and so satisfyingly, it’s Everything is Fine and here, Paleface Swiss show off a new side to themselves and in doing so, prove unequivocally that this EP is all about depth, variety, and expanding range. It’s a finale that goes down a more melodic route, and in doing so, delivers something with potent emotion. A side to Paleface Swiss that we don’t get to hear enough of and it is one hell of an exclamation point for the EP.

2026. Hold on to your asses. Paleface Swiss are starting things off in incredibly hot fashion.
