Interview: Black Metal – Collective Survival, Not Spectacle – Talking ‘Mask Casket’ with Davghter’s Izzy “DeadName” Bale

Davghter, the trans black metal band from London, will release their new EP ‘Mask Casket’ on December 1st, 2025. An EP that takes the misanthropic aggression of black metal and points it at the reality of living in a world that tries to define you out of existence. This is black metal as a site of collective survival rather than spectacle.

A mighty release that showcases immense creativity born from the souls of those who believe in what they are doing. This is black metal with feeling, black metal with a point, and black metal that everyone can embrace.

Check out the full review here.

We spoke to Izzy “DeadName” Bale (she/her) about the new EP and how this is the record that firmly puts Davghter on the metal map. As well as talking about the Davghter journey to this point, we also break down several songs from the EP, and so much more.
