Horror Movie Review: Breeders (1997 – Remake)
Up there as the ultimate remake that no-one was asking for, Breeders (1997) is somehow only marginally better than the original and that is only the case because of how awful the 1986 film was.

Cat People is a 1982 erotic horror movie directed by Paul Schrader and starring Nastassja Kinski, Malcolm McDowell and John Heard.
Toxic waste, crabs and the 80s…a very dangerous mix especially for a group of Florida island dwellers. The premise of Island Claws is ridiculous. It’s crabs after all. Hardly a terrifying prospect even if it is reminiscent of the creatures mixed with radiation 50s-era movies.
Breeders isn’t just bad, it is famously bad. A movie that on paper sounds perfect for 80’s horror fans but has so many problems that it is flat out unenjoyable. Directed by Tim Kincaid, this abomination stars Teresa Farley, Lance Lewman, and Frances Raines.
Porkchop is a super low budget, slasher horror movie that should have been good but due some glaringly obvious issues it comes up short.
Cube is a 1997 science-fiction horror film directed and co-written by Vincenzo Natali. An imaginative offering with a surreal atmosphere held back by some suspect acting and an iffy plot.
Less of a horror anthology, Minutes Past Midnight is more of a collection of horror shorts curated by filmmaker Justin McConnell in collaboration with Rue Morgue Magazine. There is no over-arching narrative and nothing to link each short together.
The third and thankfully, final entry in the series, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer was released in 2006, direct to video. Not a single member of the cast of either of the first two films return. Clearly smart enough to know that the series has run out of ideas way before this movie was released.
