Today’s single slam features Desolated, Lethal Evil, Perpetual Paradox, Eschaton, and Nomadic Reign. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.
Desolated – Glass Ceiling
UK hardcore legends Desolated have revealed all of the details about their long-awaited new album. ‘Finding Peace’, the band’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2019’s A New Realm Of Misery EP, will be released on 30th May via MLVLTD and is set to violently kick the doors down into a new era of Desolated. To celebrate the announcement, the band have shared brand new single ‘Glass Ceiling’.
Speaking on the new single, the band shares:
The cost of living is set higher than ever, yet the price of life itself is cheap as monstrosities unfold worldwide, and war mongers prevail. ‘Glass Ceiling’ embodies the issue of everyone being constantly force-fed nonsense and turned against one another through all that we digest, while being priced out of a reasonable standard of living. The cold hearted system that barely rewards hard work; it’s full weight pressed down upon your neck as you gasp for air but you really you can see through what’s going on above.
Spitting and snarling with intensity, Desolated’s hardcore ways are on full and garish display here, the band showcasing their stompy ferocity and ability to be undeniably anthemic while doing so. The ‘stop-start’ style, the brutish tempo shifts, the aggression… it’s heavy hardcore heaven and liable to give every listener a black eye and ringing in the ears.
Lethal Evil – Lone Wolf
Lethal Evil, the groovy thrash death power trio from London, have released their brand-new single, ‘Lone Wolf’.
Says the band:
Lone Wolf is one of the rawest tracks we’ve written. It’s got that old-school South American thrash energy – raw, catchy and aggressive – with grooves that hit hard and riffs that stick in your head. Lyrically, it’s about walking your own path and rejecting conformity. The vocals are sharp and unapologetic, matching the intensity of the music. We can’t wait to unleash this one live – it’s pure, no compromise thrash with a bite!
A frenzy of head banging inducing noise, Lethal Evil bring forth the heavy with this new single. One that just so happens to have a darker tone, but still delivers plenty of enjoyable groove. It’s an intense listen, but it’s also one that gets under the skin, especially as the vocals are so demonically charged. Check it out here.
Perpetual Paradox – Ash and Blood
Ferocious UK heavy hitters, Perpetual Paradox charge forward with the release of their explosive debut album, ‘Deathwish’, out June 27th. The much-rated metallers have also just released a brand new single and video, ‘Ash and Blood’.
A track that starts off strong but transforms into something truly spectacular as it goes on. Perpetual Paradox are a powerful band, delivering scathing deathcore-esqe heaviness with a technical twist, but in such a surprisingly anthemic way. Music this savage shouldn’t be as addictive as it is, but that’s just the talents of Perpetual Paradox. This is an excellent track.
Eschaton – Devour the Contrarian
Technical death metal band Eschaton, which features current/former members of bands like Obscura, Necrophagist, Inanimate Existence, Apogaen, Abyssalis, Deeds of Flesh, Arsis, etc. have released their brand-new single, ‘Techtalitarian’.
A ferocious display of technical death metal, Eschaton go for the jugular with this outrageously intense track and leave most choking on blood. From the moment it starts, it’s a furious and fast beast, rampaging through the mind for nearly four minutes. Sharp and savage, it’ not treading any new ground, but goodness, it is very enjoyable. Provided you’ve got a taste for unrelenting extreme noise. Check it out here.
Nomadic Reign – Silent Revolt
Nomadic Reign, the riff-slinging sludge and doom merchants, have released their brand-new track, ‘Silent Revolt’, alongside a video.
A thick and juicy doom sound, one that draws influence from the world of sludge, Nomadic Reign’s new track is an attention grabber, especially as it has exciting Cathedral vibes. Which isn’t a bad band to be compared to. It’s emphatically heavy, but with some creative tempo shifts, and features a stylish vocal style that feels fresh. The doom world has a new band to get excited about it seems, and its name is Nomadic Reign.
