Interview: Kairoskiller (Written)
Alternative rock band, Kairoskiller, recently released their latest single, ‘Clymax Yell’. In this interview we get to know them a little better.
1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.
Hello, and thank you! We are Kairoskiller, an alternative rock band from Turin that was formed with the current lineup in 2022, featuring Alessandro on guitar, Edoardo on drums, Antonio on vocals and guitar, and Marcello on bass. Coming from very similar musical backgrounds, we immediately found the right chemistry.
2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?
I would tell him that, beyond alternative rock, if he listens more closely, he can also hear influences of desert and stoner rock.
3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?
We recently released three singles, all available on digital platforms. The latest one, “Clymax Yell,” also has an official video on YouTube. We have more songs ready to be released and are currently focusing on them.
4. What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?
We are currently working on releasing our next songs. We definitely plan to release another single and might even put out a small EP featuring different sounds.
5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.
Our work and songs are primarily inspired by one concept: the quality of time. Often, the songs brought in by individual band members are then finalized together, with everyone contributing their own parts during rehearsal sessions.
6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?
The question is very personal, but the idea is shared by the whole band: escaping the daily routine of working life and seeking that space and creativity that are often missing or stifled by work and everyday concerns.
7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?
Certainly, the sheer number of bands out there is impressive, and fortunately, so is the quality. The important thing is not to get discouraged—keep doing what you love while observing what other bands are doing, not with envy, but with the intention of drawing inspiration. Always make sure to bring your own personality into it.
8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?
We strive to maintain a fresh and visually appealing aesthetic, thanks to our frontman, who is a graphic designer and takes great care of this aspect. Our goal is to receive positive likes, comments, views, and direct messages, but we also put a lot of time and energy into our live performances to ensure we get great feedback from our concerts as well.
9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?
We try to keep everything as natural as possible. Anything forced is noticeable and often not appreciated. We prioritize making our posts, songs, and other content spontaneous and high-quality, even if it takes more time to create.
10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?
We would ask those interested in our project to listen to the songs available on our Spotify page, check out the video for “Clymax Yell,” and follow us on our social media pages for a glimpse into our daily lives.
11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?
Some of us practice different sports, like swimming, tennis, cycling, or simply train at the gym. We also enjoy going to see concerts by local bands together, which is always a great experience.
12. Where can people find you?
You can find us on Spotify with both our released and upcoming songs, and on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where we post other content! Thanks again!
