Interview: Johannes Lenk (Atmosphere) of Hjort & V/Haze Miasma (Video/Audio)
Obscure. Cutting. Beautiful. Like wind in the branches of a bitterly cold winter forest.
In the quest for the perfect soundtrack for wistful, melancholic moments, get lost in the hypnotic undertow of broad walls of guitars, symphonic arrangements and experimental sounds, coated in an eerily-beautiful melodic monotony. Hjort is the solo-work of V/Haze Miasma‘s ‘Atmosphere‘ who utilises the studio project‘s freedom to create a unique sound experience using elaborate arrangements. Partly drawing from the realms of post-black metal, doom, progressive and symphonic music, while simultaneously denying to be categorized at all.
The aesthetics of autumn and winter, forests and mountains are the visual keynote ofAtmosphere‘s work and thus distinctly perceptible in the music. ‘Evolve IV-VIII’ is the logical progression of what was started by Hjort with ‘Trilogy I-III’ in 2022. Sink in, relax, breathe.
Delivering an album of immense quality from the first note to the last. It is beautiful, at times dark, at others, light, but always beautiful.
