Interview: I’m A Mess – The Thrilling Creative World of Jessie Dipper (Video/Audio)
UK-based artist, producer and songwriter Jessie returns with I’m A Mess — a raw, grunge-infused anthem that marks a bold sonic departure from her recent Nashville Vignettes EP.
Out 1st August 2025, the single channels the distorted energy of Nirvana, Blur and The White Stripes, while staying rooted in the folk-driven storytelling that defines her work.

Following on from Little Miss London — a standout track from her 2022 album Sticky Floors — I’m A Mess continues the narrative arc, shifting from external chaos to internal reckoning. Where Little Miss London captured a lipstick-smudged stranger on a midnight train, I’m A Mess turns the lens inward, exploring Jessie’s own vices, coping mechanisms and the beauty found in imperfection.
With a vocal that moves from gravel to falsetto and a full-band arrangement that hits hard and honest, I’m A Mess is both a cathartic release and a declaration of self-acceptance and surrender. It’s a track that celebrates the mess — not as a flaw, but as a part of becoming.
I’m A Mess is available on all major streaming platforms now.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Jessie, not just going into detail about the new single, but also Jessie’s incredible career to date, her creative drive, the work that goes into everything, the future, and so much more.
