Interview: Getting to Know Small Town Saviours

UK rock ‘n’ rollers, Small Town Saviours, charge onwards, armed with their formidable new single and video, Alkaline, out on Friday 24th April. In this interview, we get to know them a little better.

1. Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

Hey, our pleasure. Thanks for having us!

Three of us were in another band called The Black Bullets. When that came to an end I got my old friend T Bone (Bass) out of early retirement to join us in our plan for world domination (Via the medium of Rock & Roll!)

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

Hard Rock, punk, Rock & Roll with pop sensibilities. Think along the lines of Backyard Babies, Green Day, The Wildhearts with a bit of KISS and Gn’R thrown in for good measure.

3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?

Since the start 2025 we’ve been releasing new material as singles, each with its own music video. Some of these were all DIY and some animated.

Right now we’re gearing up to release our newest single ‘Alkaline’ and accompanying ‘Live Footage’ music video. We’re working with the amazing Gary at SanPR to push this one a bit further as we feel this one is a cut above! We are always working away on new material as well.

4. What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?

We’ve been working really hard on this new material and we’re all buzzing to get it out there and hope people get it like we do.

5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.

As with all of our songs, music videos etc we all put 100% in. Agonising over all aspects to make it the best we possibly can. This starts with writing & demoing, before taking it to the recording studio where we work with the legendary Dave Draper (The Wildhearts, Michael Monroe, The Professionals) to really bring it to life!!

To hear that finished product always blows us away and we can’t wait to get it out in the world.

6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?

Song writing can be very cathartic. Just being creative with your friends, having fun and making something really cool does wonders for your state of mind and is great mental therapy.

7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?

I wouldn’t say the making of the music is the most challenging part……the award for that goes to having to learn how to be a content creator! But I do think we’re getting the hang of it, one post at a time. Ha, ha!

8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?

We try not to take things too seriously and just have fun with it. For example, myself and Pete often do acoustic versions of the current single to post which lets us get creative from another angle. You’ve got to just keep posting and pushing and try and increase that reach. For the most part all comments etc are positive apart from the odd troll…….part of online life though isn’t it!

9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?

I’ll be honest it does detract time away from making music but we always make it fun and have fun doing it. We divide the social duties up amongst the band to share the online load. And it’s always a good laugh trying to film things, making mistakes, making each other laugh etc.

10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?

Like, share, spam, repeat! Spread the good word, we’ll love you forever.

11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?

Art galleries, museums, English Heritage sites…… Ha, Ha! I’ve got a big love for films, especially Horror. Some of the others are into Gaming, Martial Arts amongst other things and we all love a good ol’ fashioned knees up!

12. Where can people find you?

You can find us on, Facebook, Insta, Tiktok, YouTube, Spotify and anywhere else that will take these four loveable rogues.
