Getting to Know Buried In Bermuda (Interview – Written)

Brit riff merchants, Buried in Bermuda, have dropped their tantalising new single and video, ‘Torment’, and in this interview we get to know them.

1. Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

We originally formed as a three piece back in 2021, but our current lineup has been going since the start of 2025 and we are excited to be in the studio writing new songs together, and preparing for some festival slots this summer.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

A mixture really, but the genre description of ‘Heavy alt-rock/metalcore’ seems to fit our latest releases.

3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?

We just released a new music video for our latest single ‘Torment’ and we are back in the studio next week to finish the recording of our next two singles. We also have two festivals for this summer, and a UK Tour starting in October.

4. What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?

Our new lineup fits really well, we all get on, and we really enjoy writing and performing the songs together.

5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.

Hard work, dedication, sacrifice and having a clear vision has really helped us get to the stage that we are currently at. We keep pushing for more though, and we have our sights on bigger things for 2026.

6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?

It gives us something to focus on, to channel creativity, to make good use of time investment, and seeing goals achieved is a great feeling.

7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?

There have been many challenges and setbacks, but we keep pushing forward together as a band and we always refocus on bigger and better goals.

8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?

It’s certainly not easy, and it is very time consuming and relentless for sometimes, very little gain. However, it’s a ‘necessary evil’ and we have embraced it as a way of expanding the reach of our music and brand.

9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?

Usually by sharing the responsibility of each task amongst the band, and also creating new and fresh content. As an example, we now have a habit of filming content for social media during rehearsals. We like to add a touch of comedy to the content, so that it’s more enjoyable to create, as well as to share and watch.

10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?

One of the best things you can do is to simply listen, like and share the band’s music on your socials, but if at live gigs, buying some merch really goes a long way to helping smaller bands grow.

11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?

We all like to play various sports, cooking, hiking and going to the gym.

12. Where can people find you?

On all major social media platforms as well as our own website: www.buriedinbermuda.com.
