EP Review: Post Heaven – The Space That’s In Between (Greyscale Records)
Melbourne post-hardcore outfit Post Heaven, who recently signed to Greyscale Records, will release their sophomore EP, ‘The Space That’s In Between’ on October 3rd, 2025.

If End Alone, the opening track, is your first taste of Post Heaven, you might be left wondering just what you’re in for as it is quite a unique listen. Highly melodic, hugely ambient, deeply cinematic, and with a textured shoegaze feel, it’s nearly three minutes of mellow tones blended with soft, crooning vocals. Around the three-minute mark, it remarkably and effectively powers up in post-hardcore style, albeit warped by the aforementioned gaze and stronger alternative flavours, before drifting away downright peacefully. It’s an incredible listen.
Basic Fault is next, and it is a fast and frenzied one, Post Heaven showing off their chaotic side, but also delivering a chorus that soars. The vocal interplay here is wild and it’s really heartening to hear them get heavy as hell. A band that refuses to be pigeon-holed.
Case in point, the most visceral track of all, the angular Exit Wound. A track with metallic hardcore edges and some garish use of electronica, but a track that doesn’t step too far out of the alternative world. Which helps give it some anthemic qualities, least of all the potent chorus.
Finally, it’s Hesitation Lover and here, Post Heaven push their alternative ways to more eclectic and electrifying heights. Turning five minutes into a whirlwind of nostalgia laced singalong energy. It’s an excellent track, one of four excellent tracks. Varied, exciting, and so damn memorable.
