It was inevitable, wasn’t it? There have been so many movies taking the Amityville name, attempting to cash in on its ever-diminishing value, while having nothing to do with the original horror, that one based around the festive season was always going to happen. In fact, it’s crazy that it hasn’t happened before.
Weredeer, a horror comedy that knows it is a bad movie, and plays up to that fact, delivering an entertaining slice of festive horror.
The Breach is a horror movie that shows a lot of promise, but eventually gets bogged down by a muddled story and an attempt to blend genres, admirable as though that might be.
10/31 Part 3 sticks to the formula set out by the previous two entries, being a collection of horror shorts all based around the spooky season.
Promising more than it can deliver, but still proving to be an effectively tense and mysterious blend of a thriller and a horror, Arctic Void comes from director Darren Mann, who co-wrote the story with Jay Kirk and William Paul Jones.
When a film has four writers listed, it suggest a confused movie, and The Ghosts of Monday certainly proves to be that.
Conjuring the Genie 2 is an improvement over the original. A mild improvement, but an improvement none the less.
