A 2017 British horror film directed by David Bruckner and written by Joe Barton. The Ritual is a familiar but effective horror. It is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Adam Nevill and stars Rafe Spall, Arsher Ali, Robert James-Collier, and Sam Troughton.
Veronica is a Spanish supernatural horror directed by Paco Plaza & co-written with Fernando Navarro. Set in Madrid during the summer of 1991, it stars Sandra Escacena as Verónica.
An anthology that goes for a grindhouse feel but ends up coming across cheap. The stories are being seen by a couple on their first date to a horror marathon. Slumber is a supernatural horror directed by Jonathan Hopkins and co-written by Richard Hobley and Hopkins. A horror that is so bland & trips up so many times that the moment it ends, you’ll have forgotten it already.
The concept of an unassuming object which grants wishes that come with a price dates back to 1902. The Monkey’s Paw is a short story by author W. W. Jacobs. If that at all sounds familiar it’s likely because the tale has been retold time and time again since. Wish Upon is the latest attempt.
It Kills seems to have tried to cash in on the popularity of the re-imagining of Stephen King’s It. However, those going in expecting a spooky, effective & tension filled horror will be in for a shock. It Kills is low budget slasher trash.
