Breaking Bands X – First Line Up Announcement!

Breaking Bands Festival officially reaches 10 years of live music in 2025 and what better way to celebrate than to announce some of the awesome bands and info about what is in store next year.

We are really pleased to say that our big 10th Anniversary will return to our spiritual home of Stoke Prior and will be the full 4 day experience with the 2 stages and 3 full days of bands back to back. The festival will kick off Thursday 22nd May 2025 with our big quiz night and by popular demand, an opening night party band. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will see the 2 stage format back with the huge marquee (as the weather can kick ass like last weekend) with no band clashes all weekend.

From Cwmbran South Wales, Exaust have emerged through the underground metal scene in the south west of the UK. Their music is Inspired by the thrash and speed metal bands of old, but brought bang up to date.

Regicide – For fans of Metallica, Pantera, Machine Head

Regicide formed in Essex in 2020 from a collection of friends who shared similar musical influences and passion. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses killer riffs, murderous drums, guttural vocals and disgusting breakdowns that will make you more aggressive than your Nan on bingo night.

Struck/Down – For fans of Killswitch Engage, Machine Head

Struck/Down are a 5 piece modern metal / groove metal outfit from the heart of Kent, with clean vocals and heavy riffs. Drawing on their shared love of classic groove metal and modern metal, the band isn’t afraid of utilising other genres in allowing them to make the music they want to.

2023 saw the band release their follow up EP: ‘To Witches’ which received excellent reviews from the likes of Metal Hammer and ERB magazines. The band returned to the Penny Theatre for their EP release show, selling out the venue.

Sypha – For fans of Hot Milk, Marmozets, Royal Blood

SYPHA are an energetic heavy rock band from Brighton, injecting waves of metal, rock, blues and punk into their original sound. Experience the pull of dirty riffs, spooky atmospheres and punchy vocals, unbarred from genre norms. SYPHA are quickly gaining traction, having recently reached 38K+ views on their first ever music video and latest single ‘World’s End’, released in January 2024.

Kit Trigg – For fans of Reef, The Beastie Boys, The Rolling Stones

Established in a skate park in Farnham, circa 2015, Kit Trigg consists of three long-time friends – Kit Trigg, Guy Fenegan and Nic Sleight – who write classic rock songs for the present day. Having completed multiple tours around the UK and Ireland, selling out shows from Newcastle to Brighton, and opening for the likes of Muddy Waters Jr, Massive Wagons and These Wicked Rivers, the band have recently released new EP “Goin’ for Glory” to critical acclaim.

Following on from our personal choices of up and coming bands, we have 3 amazing headline bands who have all played Breaking Bands Festival before and in our eyes, they are bands that have climbed the ladder and deserve the recognition and their places on the bill of our 10th Anniversary. We are so pleased and excited to bring bands the following bands…

King Kraken – For fans of Clutch, Black Stone Cherry, Mastadon

King Kraken are a 5 piece heavy rock band from South Wales, UK. Blending influences from all corners of the rock/metal spectrum King Kraken forge their own style bringing huge slabs of monster riffage and gravel etched vocals!

Ward XVI – For fans of Avatar, Alice Cooper, In This Moment

Dare you enter Ward XVI, maximum-security for the mentally deranged? Once more, the gates of Whittingham Asylum have been cast open. Freaks and outcasts, oddballs and inbreds – all are welcome.

Get up close and personal with the UK’s most brutal and bloody serial killer, Psychoberrie, as she spins a haunting tale of depravity and manipulation. Watch in horror as she executes her prey live on stage. Fall victim to catchy female vocals, fortified by a genredefying mix of hard-hitting metal riffs, offbeat ska rhythms, melancholic piano, jaunty accordion, and a hint of electro.

These Wicked Rivers – For fans of Black Stone Cherry, Rival Sons, Blackberry Smoke

Established in 2014, These Wicked Rivers are Derby’s entry to the new wave of rock and roll that is sweeping across the United Kingdom. Drawing influence from the well of rock legends and blues greats, the band have made quite an impact since their inception with their unique brand of blues-infused modern rock steadily picking up plaudits for their gutsy live performances to sold out crowds across the UK and Europe. Latest album ‘Force of Nature’ reached number 3 in the UK Rock Charts, cementing their reputation as one of the brightest rising stars in new rock.
