Band Interview: Mudfight

Games, Brrraaains & Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with ‘power pop punk’ band, Mudfight!

1. How did you get started as a band?

MAX: Prior to the band we have only known each other by sight.

One day I asked Dominik, if he wanted to play the drums in a punk band I was trying to set up!
We then rehearsed with different guitarists, until Alex (Guitar) one day asked me about our band and I arranged a meeting with him. The next day he joined as a band member!

2. How would you describe your sound?

MAX: Our sound has been compared to Green Day, AC/DC, Nirvana, The Ramones, Sum 41 and so on… we have a classic punk setup, but we are experimenting with other genres as well! A fine mix between the genres of punk, rock, garage and alternative.

It was called ‘Power Pop Punk’ before!

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

MAX: Many big bands like: Green Day, AC/DC, The Ramones, Blink-182, NOFX, The Descendennts, Mötley Crüe, The Beatles and many more! We take influence from a wide range of bands, coming from all genres!

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

MAX: Since we were not around the time before streaming, we can´t answer that part. But as I can say now, streaming really helps us, by giving us the power to grow our own fanbase online!

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

MAX (Bass / Vocals): Hanging out with friends, going to parties or just hanging out at our local record store talking about music!

DOMINIK (Drums): Programming or hanging out with friends drinking beer and having fun!

ALEX (Guitar / Vocals): Working on artworks, hanging out with friends, watching old classics or doing sports!

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

MAX: Due to the pandemic, we had to cancel our touring plans for this year!

Let´s hope, that 2021 is going to be an awesome year for music and that we can make a tour then!
For now, we have some specials planned, like a live stream in summer, to support the release of our upcoming EP `Safe Zone´, which is going to be released on the 12th of June 2020, via SBÄM Records!

Thank you for checking it out and thank you for the interview!
