Band Interview: LifeCycle
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with hard hitting alternative rock band, LifeCycle.
1. How did you get started as a band?
Scott (Bass) placed an ad on Craigslist trying to find a singer. The idea was to find a singer and then go for guitar and drums. The Singer then found not one, but two guitar players(Kevin and Joe). The Singer found an amazing drummer (John). We then fired the singer. Yes….that’s how that went down. So we kept writing and recording without a singer. John placed an ad on Facebook for a singer and right away, we hired Asim to lead the band. Its really amazing how it all worked out.
2. How would you describe your sound?
I would say LifeCycle is a guitar driven melodic band. We don’t have that copycat sound of screaming the verse and singing the hook. We don’t believe in it. Instead , the guitar riffs drive the band and we write melody around that. The band loves writing and collaborating together.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
Everyone. Literally every shitty band that writes horrible music to the best songwriting and the best bands. Take Ghost. Love them or not, they know how to write a song. It is so great to hear that quality. That type of thing influences the band. Our biggest influence is Lifecycle. We influence each other because in this band, everyone has an equal voice while creating a song. Its unique.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
Helped! YouTube and music streaming have levelled the playing field. Now , you or me or anyone has the same opportunity to write a song, promote it, and then have people around the world enjoy it. In the past, that would be impossible without a “Record Deal”. In the history of music,as a working musician, this is the best time to be alive!
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
We all have different hobbies including listening and talking music, but the majority of our down time is spent with our family and friends.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
Our debut self titled “Lifecycle” debuted and dropped January 2020. Our next single “Burnout” drops everywhere March 4th 2020. In addition we have live dates in the northeast through out April supporting the new material. Check out our website for it all. The website has links to everything we do including our tour dates and music. The last thing we want you to check out is our YouTube channel. We created a ridiculous insane comedy and behind the scenes look at the band. Its called “A Day in the LifeCycle”. The series drops a new episode every other week. Our overall goal is to give everyone new content constantly.
