Upgrade is set in the near, technologically advanced future. It focuses on Grey Trace, a self-proclaimed technophobe. One day, his entire world is turned upside down when he is left paraplegic after a horrific mugging. Not only that but he was forced to watch his wife bleed out & die before his eyes. Contemplating suicide, Grey is given a lifeline in the form of an experimental computer chip implant called STEM.

Horror Movie Review: Hereditary (2018)

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it’s likely you’ve heard of Hereditary. You know, the horror movie that is widely considered to be the “scariest of 2018” or “this generations The Exorcist”. That’s quite a claim, especially in such a divisive genre. Hereditary was written & directed by Ari Aster, on his directional debut. In short, it follows a family haunted after the death of their secretive grandmother. Does it live up to the hype?

Game Review – Shenmue I & II: HD Collection (Xbox One)

Well, this is a review I never imagined I would be writing. Shenmue is one of my favourite video games of all time. I played it to death in my younger years and have often reminisced ever since. Originally, it released in 1999 on the SEGA Dreamcast. Next year, it will have been 20 years since it all began. I’ve often dreamed of a re-release on modern platforms.

Marrowbone or The Secret of Marrowbone is a horror film that released in 2017. It was written & directed by Sergio G. Sánchez on his directional debut. The film focuses on Jack and his three younger siblings. When their beloved mother suddenly dies, they are forced to keep the secret of her death in order to remain together. However, soon after they are plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor in which they live.

Horror Movie Review: Bad Samaritan (2018)

Bad Samaritan is a horror-thriller film that released in 2018. It stars Robert Sheehan as Sean, a restaurant valet/aspiring photographer by day and house burglar by night. Along with his friend Derek, they secretly use the cars entrusted to them by customers to burglarize their homes. However, Sean finds more than he bargained for when he breaks into the house of wealthy patron Cale Ehrenreich (David Tennant) and discovers a woman named Katie being held captive.

Game Review: Submerged (Xbox One)

Submerged is an indie game developed & published by Uppercut Games, it released in 2015. From a third-person perspective, you control a young girl named Miku. As Miku, you explore a dystopian future where global warming has flooded the world. Submerged was made by a team of former BioShock developers and was chiefly inspired by Journey and Shadow of the Colossus.

Horror Movie Review: Unsane (2018)

Sawyer Valentini is a troubled woman who recently moved away from her home in an attempt to escape her long-term stalker. She inadvertently commits herself to a mental health institution after her councillor becomes concerned that Sawyer is suicidal. While there she becomes increasingly paranoid that her stalker is working as one of employees at the facility.
