Album Review: Million Moons – You Be Good, I Love You (Ripcord Records / Dunk! Records / A Thousand Arms Music)

UK post-rock quartet Million Moons will release their new album, ‘You Be Good, I Love You’, on 26th June 2026 via Dunk! Records (Europe) and Ripcord Records (UK).

I love this band, but there was a part of me that wondered how they could ever top their previous release, ‘I May be Some Time’. A part of me that was emphatically put to bed with just one listen of this record, a feeling that got stronger and stronger with each subsequent listen too. Yet, the clue was there before I even hit play, and all thanks to the concept.

A concept that is less direct, but potentially more meaningful to many. Millon Moons inviting listeners to reflect on consciousnesses other than our own. Ambitious, of course, but I’m not surprised, as reaching for the stars is what this band does. Alongside creating some of the most powerful post rock tunes possible.

You Be Good, I Love You is an impressive release, one that demands your utmost attention, and rewards that faith by delivering something you feel in your soul. Something that goes beyond the human connection, creating something that is so much grander and all-encompassing. We aren’t the only ones clinging on to this rock for dear life.

Keep that in mind as you listen to the eight tracks on offer here. Think about the natural world, look at the bigger picture, and allow a different kind of connection to take over. All of which comes via an array of stunning musical vistas. Million Moons haven’t just aimed higher than ever before with the concept and track detail, they’ve pushed their musical abilities to their limits and introduced fresh elements that create different levels of heaviness and thicker layers of melody, while continuing to experiment.

The result of this is an album that needs so much more than just a cursory listen. An album that is substantial, but not overly long, especially as it is so immersive. Each individual track takes the listener on a specific journey so can be experienced in isolation, but it is as a complete package that the album truly satisfies. That is how you hear the true power of Million Moons’ creativity.

I don’t think it’s right that you pick and choose tracks here. I know life moves fast, and I know that dedicating the time to one full record can be so demanding, but if there is one record this year that deserves it, it is this. I didn’t think it was possible for Million Moons to top what they have done in the past, yet they’ve managed it and done so by simply by showing growth. Not by changing, not by moving away from the sound of post rock (although they’ve always been a bit more than just that), and not by abandoning their story telling ways, but by being themselves completely and utterly.

It’s a beautiful thing. Just like the world we live in is, and just like everything that shares it with us. Can you feel it?

Million Moons have delivered a triumphant album that will continue to resonate for years to come. I can think of no higher praise than to call it a truly unforgettable listen.
