Album Review: KHNVM – Foretold Monuments Of Flesh (Testimony Records)

Testimony Records will release the new album by KHNVM – pulverizing old school death metal from Germany/Bangladesh! Foretold Monuments Of Flesh, the duo’s debut album, will be released on 29th March 2019 on CD (limited, hand-numbered digipack), LP (limited silver vinyl & black vinyl) and in digital versions.

Spawned in the vein of death, KHNVM (pronounced as khoo-num) speaks for all those chaos and destruction which crushed the false beliefs to dust. “Foretold Monuments Of Flesh” marks the debut manifesto of demonstrating the inner evils within us as ancient art of plague.

Sub genres come and go, some are in fashion temporarily while others become a ‘dirty’ word, Not death metal though. A mainstay that is constantly evolving as bands find new and interesting ways to take the extreme sound to new levels. Still for all its evolution, sometimes what we as metalheads want…no need, is an album of no frills, no nonsense death metal. What we now call ‘old-school’ death metal. Like a hungering for meat or a thirst for water, we crave it.

Be thankful that KHNVM are hear to satisfy those cravings with seven tracks of blistering, heavy and nasty old school death metal tracks. Foretold Monuments of Flesh isn’t taking extreme metal to any new heights. What it is, is deceptively simple heavy metal with the emphasis on twisted evilness.

From the gripping hooks, to the plague ridden vocals to the earth-shattering drums…it delivers an extreme listen that is quenches the death metal thirst. KHNVM promised uncomplicated fury and that is exactly what we get. Praise be.
