Horror Short Review: We Lied (2026)
I love ambiguity in my horror, and I certainly don’t mind things getting weird, but We Lied pushes things to the limits and although I enjoyed it, I can easily understand why others don’t.
Written, directed, and produced by Spencer Elwood, We Lied stars Kylee Thurman-Miller, a woman we are introduced to as she uses her hands to dig into the earth. She finds a small pink backpack, and in it, a gun. Which she takes to a house, seemingly with ill intentions for whoever is inside.
Except her demeanour and frantic behaviour suggests that whatever she is planning to do, may be something she is being forced to do. Ruddy mysterious, right?
Kylee is great, and Spencer is a talented director, but the thing that really makes this short special is the music. It’s worth checking out, especially as it is very short.
