Bloodstock 2026 Band Feature: Thrasherwolf
Where does the time go!? Once again, Bloodstock is right around the corner, and once again, it is shaping up to be one the best festivals of the year. Not just because there are a variety of bands spread across its main two stages, not just because it is packed with fun things to do, great food and drink to enjoy, and tons of likeminded people to experience it all with, but because it champions the future of the scene with its New Blood and EMP stages. Where unsigned bands, some handpicked, but most coming through the Metal 2 the Masses events, get to play the festival.

It can be an absolute gamechanger for a band to play the New Blood or EMP stages and plenty have gone on to bigger and brighter things. We know, we’ve been paying a lot of attention to that side of things for a long time now, and every year, tried to feature as many bands playing as we could. While we can’t promise that we will see all these bands at the festival, we can promise that you will find a wealth of talent should you wander over to either.
Who knows, you may even end up finding your new favourite band.
It’s almost time for BOA 2026, so it’s time to get to know some of bands who will be playing the New Blood Stage or the EMP stage. This is Thrasherwolf!

First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself. How and when did you get started?
Hi I’m Dan Lucas, the front man of Thrasherwolf and lead song writer. Well Thrasherwolf was a long time project of mine, a concept that spanned years in my early twenties that slowly took form. The band’s name first came about cause I saw bands with wolf in the title did quite well, the imagery is strong, we do thrash metal, so it just felt natural to call ourselves Thrasherwolf. Slowly I got friends together, started writing songs, people came and left as the material got stronger and the aim of the band got more focused and eventually we ended up with the lineup we have now of extremely talented and driven musicians and I couldn’t be more proud of all of them. We help each other to make the whole pack strong.
Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?
Thrash metal, straight up. No nonsense, no frills, just plain straight thrash metal.
How has playing Bloodstock 2026 come about?
We had been building up Thrasherwolf for years, working hard releasing our songs, showing our chops so to speak, and one day I receive an email that sent em into an excited frenzy; an email inviting Thrasherwolf to play the new blood stage at Bloodstock. I frantically phoned all the guys to tell them and here we are. We have an awesome surprise for our performance at the Bloodstock and I certainly hope everyone is as excited as we are cause we are bringing the pack to bloodstock!
What does it mean for you to play the festival this year?
It means the world to us. We always loved the festival and dreamed of playing. We love the bloodstock team, it’s the beginning of the first step in our journey as part of the bloodstock family.
What’s the setlist looking like and can we expect any surprises?
Can’t tell you and yes there will be, haha.
Who are you looking forward to seeing, provided they don’t clash with your set?
Death Angel, Judas Priest, Municipal Waste, our good buddies in IMPERIUM of course, the list is endless for the amount of amazing talent and god tier bands playing this year.
Ignoring the obvious (tent, sleeping bag, toilet roll, etc.) what’s one thing you should always take with you to a festival and why?
Buscopan, for reasons, just reasons. It can save your life.
It’s post-set, you’re packed away and your press is all done. It’s finally time to kick back and relax, what are you drinking and what are you eating?
Drinking a nice cold desperado or a double brandy and coke, knocking back the biggest, tastiest, mayo slathered sandwich I can lay my hands on haha.
Thrasherwolf play the New Blood stage on the Saturday of the festival. Limited Bloodstock tickets are on sale now and you pick them up here.
