Horror Short Review: You’ve Got a Fiend in Me (2026)

Directed by Luca Zanlorenzi and starring Luigi Siodambro, You’ve Got a Fiend in Me takes the Toy Story icon that is Woody and turns him into something sinister.

The story surrounds a young man driven to go and visit a long-abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. According to a phone message, this man has been obsessed with trying to find a fabled toy and once at the house, he conveniently finds a tape recorder that explains just what is going on. The house and area around it is haunted by something wicked and something that is very much alive.

Feeling more like a ‘proof of concept’ than a fully-fledged horror short, You’ve Got a Fiend in Me is not very good and all because its one-party trick, the Woody monster, is uninspired. Is it AI? It sure looks like it is AI. Not only that, at around four minutes, it somehow manages to feel dragged out too.
