Coilguns – Peace Trader
Swiss noise-rock collective Coilguns have returned with their new single ‘Peace Trader’, out now via Humus Records, accompanied by an official video.
Continuing to be one of the most unique bands in the world, regardless of genre, Coilguns deliver a potent noise rock experience that comes with unexpected layers of emotion. It’s a track you sit and think about, taking in all the detail, and letting it simmer before hitting play again.
Yersin – Die Alone (feat. Sarah Jezebel Deva)
Hailing from the barren Sundered Lands of the Northeast Yersin come back to the table with their third release, the ‘Born Alone, Die Alone’ EP. Out July 10th, 2026. The first single, ‘Die Alone’, is out now and it features Sarah Jezebel Deva.
Purveyors of noise, the return of Yersin has been long overdue and to hear them come back in such a potent way, is delightful. Sounding angrier than ever, this creative effort’s ferocity is balanced by an intriguing Sarah Jezebel Deva guest spot, yet the intensity never drops. This is a track that will leave you feeling like you’ve been slapped round the head a few times. Check it out here.
Märvel – Secrets
Following the release of their tenth studio album Brain Drain Diaries on December 5, 2025, Swedish high-energy rock ’n’ roll trio Märvel returns with the new single ‘Secrets’ – a track that digs deeper into the emotional undercurrents that have long fuelled the band’s songwriting.
Märvel are such a prolific band, but they are one of the rare ones capable of delivering quality as well as quantity. This new track, having been part of the album’s creative period, doesn’t sound out of place with what the band have been doing, but the extra emotive sting is notable. It’s brilliantly infectious, another slice of lovable Märvel music. Check it out here.
Profaned – Father of Woe (feat. Tina Gunnarsson of Hexed)
Profaned, the Swedish heavy metal band with roots in thrash, NWOBHM and 90s metal, have released their brand-new single, ‘Father of Woe’ featuring Tina Gunnarsson of Hexed. The track comes from their debut album ‘The Human Condition’, out May 14th.
Fast and furious sounding, this new Profaned single is an all-out head-banging inducing assault of familiar heavy metal. Yet, with a bit more flair and an inspired guest spot from Tina Gunnarsson, the chorus really lifts things. It’s a class track that will please all fans of heavy things.
Sworn Against – Devastate
‘Devastate’ is the brand-new single from metalcore band, Sworn Amongst. A track that dives into themes of internal trauma [inner conflict, resilience, mental health, etc.].
An explosive showcase of aggressive metalcore, this is a beast of a track that starts off at an intense level. Something that is kept in place, even when melody and clean singing arrive. It’s not the most inspired thing you’re going to hear, but it goes hard, and that’s more than enough to turn heads. Check it out here.
A-Tota-So – Form of Mass
‘Form of Mass’ is the brand-new single from A-Tota-So. A track designed to capture the feeling of trying to stay hopeful while living through increasingly uncertain times.
Says Marty Toner – guitar/vocals:
Form of Mass is about how the world feels like it’s falling apart around us right now and we’re all constantly waiting for things to change for the better but they never do, so we’re stuck in a never ending cycle of anxiety and stress because we can’t really do anything to change the way things are. We tried to keep this song as upbeat as possible even with its negative connotations. Maybe someday things will get better and we’ll look back on these dark days and just think WTF was that?
One of the cool things about this track is how it takes dark subject matter, and gives it a lighter tone, without detracting from what the band wants to say. The world is a mess, and there’s no ignoring that, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hope for better times, right? Keep smiling, press play, and dance to a track filled with catchy elements. Check it out here.
Plum – Reach Out
Plum returns with their new single, ‘Reach Out’, accompanied by a music video. The release marks a bold and introspective chapter for the band, blending raw emotional honesty with themes of spiritual longing and personal redemption.
The rebirth of Plum continues in memorable fashion as the alternative pioneers deliver an attention-grabbing slice of music that defies genre placements. Cleverly blending styles, but sounding like its own thing completely too. It’s a track you simply marvel at.
Embodiment – Jeopardy in Idolatry
Bristol extreme metallers Embodiment are back and heavier than ever. Following a brief hiatus and a reshuffle in the lineup, the band have returned with their new single, ‘Jeopardy in Idolatry’.
A welcome slab of garish savagery that comes with undeniable hostile intent. Embodiment’s return is not for the faint-hearted, and I’m here for it. Furiously fast and aggressive, it’s the ‘embodiment’ of extreme, albeit with appealing technicality and thrilling detail. Check it out here.
Bad Neighbour – Mean Faces
Brisbane emo rock outfit Bad Neighbour recently announced news of their sophomore album, ‘Burns from the X-rays’, set for release Friday 5 June via Ninth Life Records. The band have now shared their new single ‘Mean Faces’.
The track explores the darker parts of ourselves that can resurface from time to time, and the process of recognising them. Vocalist Cooper Riley says:
I wanted this song to be like a letter to myself … I love the line ‘it’s not gonna do what you need it to’, because sometimes we place unrealistic expectations on things, wanting them to happen the way we so badly want them to. But more often than not you get what you need instead of what you want.
An incredible track oozing emotion, Bad Neighbour continue to show just how developed their sound is and how easy it is for them to add so much feeling into what they do. It’s a really powerful track, both instrumentally and vocally, but it’s also impressively catchy too. Check it out here.
Dark Divine – Fading Away
Orlando metalcore band Dark Divine have released their latest single ‘Fading Away’ via Thriller Records. Arriving alongside a visualiser, the track captures the frustration and exhaustion of trying to navigate a world built on outrage, noise, and constant division.
It’s a banger with big anthemic qualities, that’s all you need to know. Dark Divine excels at dragging metalcore into the modern era and giving it an injection of authenticity, and this track showcases that. Be warned, this one will get stuck in the head.
Changing Places in the Fire – A Reason to Fall
Exile-born, Venezuelan prog-rock/post-metal act Changing Places in the Fire have released their new video single ‘A Reason to Fall’. This single is taken from their just announced debut self-titled album, out 24th July via Wild Thing Records.
Heavily detailed and surprisingly touching, this new single from the multi-layered band is one to take note of. It’s also one that needs time, multiple listens, and space to fully appreciate. There’s a lot going on, of course, and unpeeling all its layers is what makes it such an experience. Check it out here.
divedown – Calm Me
Melbourne alternative rock outfit divedown have announced their debut EP, Where They May, will be available Friday 29 May via Ninth Life Records. As a first taste of the release, the band have unveiled the new single ‘Calm Me’.
Says frontman Sam Bianco:
It’s about anxiety, depression and how I tend to be really hard on myself in all aspects of my life. From my own mental health, to my interactions with others, and the standards I set for myself.
As reliable as ever, divedown approach a challenging subject with alternative power and the kind of authenticity that makes everyone turn their head. It’s very lively, but the passion comes from deeper and darker places. It’s an anthem, but an anthem from a more thoughtful position. Check it out here.
Rising Insane – Deathrace
German metalcore outfit Rising Insane have announced that their brand-new studio album, ‘Deathrace’, set for release on 21st August via Long Branch Records. Alongside the album announcement, Rising Insane have also unveiled the title track.
The band share:
With ‘DEATHRACE,’ we realized very early on that we hadn’t just written a single for the album, but also the title track. For one thing, the track has that energy we feel when we’re on stage celebrating with the crowd. On the other hand, the song describes the state of the world pretty accurately; alongside anger and despair, there’s also a call to stick together in these times.
The future has never seemed brighter for this band, and their next era comes with big, anthemic properties. Which might seem par for the course with this band, but trust me, they’ve not released something quite as ‘radio ready’ as this. Though don’t let that fool you into thinking it doesn’t go hard, because it does.
