EP Review: Convey – A Place In Hell For Us Both (Self Released)
‘A Place in Hell for Us Both’ is the brand-new EP from Worcester-based nu-hardcore band Convey, out on 18th February 2026.

I reckon 2026 is going to be a big year for this band and the firing pistol is this absolutely banging EP. A release that captures the manic energy of their live show, the fiery intensity of their nu-tainted hardcore sound, and the evolving nature of them as individuals and as a unit. This is an excellent showcase of who the band is and what they are capable of.
If you’re coming in fresh, chances are you’ll be head over heels in love with them from the start and it’s thanks to the snarling speed and vicious heaviness of Eternal. You can smell and taste the sweat of a live show with this track, and the groovy anthemic chorus is the cherry on top.
Speaking of groove, Masquerade will have the head well and truly banging thanks to a violent combination of serrated riffs, pounding drums, and roaring vocals. There’s a very cool breakdown here too. Whereas Death Rattle has a sinister vein running through, courtesy of differing tempos and underlying aggression.
There may be no better tracks on the EP that showcases the nu-power side of Convey than Say it Again and Lie to Me. Delightfully retro, relentlessly bouncy, and undeniably fun. They are both tracks that you can easily see going off in the live environment. Of the two, I prefer the former because of the aforementioned bounce (and lyrics), but the intensity of the vocals of the latter impresses as well.
How do you wrap up such an attention-grabbing effort? By going heavier and heavier. Severed is Convey at their most feral sounding. While it might not be the most immediately infectious effort, it punches hard, ensuring the listener is left seeing stars come the end.
