Album Review: Lust Of Decay – Entombed In Sewage (Comatose Music)

Old school brutal death metal band, Lust of Decay have returned to release their first new album since 2006. It’s called ‘Entombed in Sewage’ and it spews out into the world on December 12th, 2025, via Comatose Music.

The word is grim and it defines this album, not just because Lust of Decay have returned with a thirst for carnage, but because across the eight tracks of this album, the mayhem doesn’t let up. It is the epitome of aural punishment and if it wasn’t for the instrumental flair here and there, I’d probably call in downright unlistenable, such is the senseless speed, aggression, and intensity on show.

It must be noted though that this isn’t a complaint, it’s just a fact and it’s the kind of horrible noise Lust of Decay revel in delivering to willing ears. Especially as, for all its pungency, it’s not an album that takes itself too seriously. On first listen, you’ll pick up on the more imaginative side of Lust of Decay, but after several listens, their influences and inspirations become so much clearer.

Who had a brutal death metal Star Wars themed track as part of their 2025 bucket list? Nobody? I’m not surprised. Order 66 is a delight, and just one of many rampaging blasts of razor riffing, pulverising drumming, and flaying vocals on show. They’re a proper old-school band, and their goal to wreck necks, crush minds, and leave souls rendered is well and truly achieved come the end.

From the moment Parasitic Exsanguination arrives in a flurry of guitar squeals, blast beats, and guttural roars, the album tells you what it is. From that point on, there is no give and the likes of Hallucinations of the Decrepit, Nourishing the Swine, Fetal Contamination Process, and Rusty Razor Rimjob will leave you seeing stars and smelling death and decay.

Madness, but addictive madness, especially as it is focused as hell, wrapping up nicely with two more manic efforts, Desiccate the Epithelium and the title track. Super satisfying stuff, even if you probably need to have an ear for the extreme, a corrupted soul, and a sickened mind to get the most out of it.
