Bloodstock 2025 Band Feature: Vnder A Crvmbling Moon

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s Bloodstock time and 2025 is looking to be one of the best events the festival has ever put on, if we’re judging it by bands… which we are, of course.

Taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7th to August 10th, Bloodstock Festival 2025 has not only sold out all its weekend tickets, but it also sold out day tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday and it seems likely that Friday will follow suit before the festival actually starts. Boasting a lineup that includes the likes of Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Ministry, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Static-X, Nailbomb, Kataklysm, Obituary, and headliners, Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, and so much more spread across four stages, it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.

Vnder A Crvmbling Moon

The Sophie Lancaster stage at Bloodstock always features some of the best and brightest bands in the world, and this year is no different. Although the word ‘bright’ might not be one most use to describe Vnder A Crvmbling Moon, their metal soundscape is stunning none the less.

Out of the bleakness of mankind rise Vnder A Crvmbling Moon. Formed with the intention of creating a soundscape to lose yourself in, Vnder A Crvmbling Moon can best be described as post metal crossed with doom metal.

They released their debut album, ‘I: Oblivion’ in May 2023 via Church Road Records and followed that with ‘II: Aging & Formless’, out April 2024, via Ripcord Records.

II: Ageless & Formless isn’t accessible music, it’s not the sort of stuff you put on while doing some household chores, or to liven up a party. Vnder A Crvmbling Moon like to take their time, growing a burgeoning sense of atmosphere, layering gloomy post rhythms within even gloomier doom soundscapes, and making it all feel so oppressive.

You can read our full review of II: Ageless & Formless here.

Alongside numerous other live dates (including a Ripcord Records run of dates later in the year), Bloodstock has come a-calling, and the Sophie Lancaster stage will bear witness to the dramatic intensity of Vnder a Crvmbling Moon’s extravagant soundscape on the Saturday of the festival. They are a must-see band, so we asked them what it means to play the festival this year, what Bloodstock overall means to them, and what attendees can expect from their set. This is what they had to say:

Getting to play Bloodstock is not something we expected to happen this quickly to be honest and we’re really excited to be able share our music live at such as event. Between us, we’ve attended Bloodstock on many occasions in the past. It’s a great festival that has grown so much and being able to play our music at a festival this size seems crazy to us but we can’t wait.

We’re currently playing shows in support of our latest album, ‘II: Aging and Formless’, so our set is focused on this material and we’re also incorporating a visual aspect to our show for the very first time, to hopefully, make the experience even more immersive. Looking forward to seeing folks there. See you soon.
