Way before they were in vogue in horror, Ouija boards made the odd appearance here and there in our movies. Rarely did we get movies that made them the focus of the story, especially not in the 80s. Enter Witchboard, a cult horror released in 1986.
A short novella by R.F. Blackstone, Noni Stevens is a survivor in a country (and world) devastated by a zombie virus. Yes, the dead have risen but that is far from the only threat she faces as she wanders the unforgiving Outback.
It’s a big ask for anyone to put up with the terrible quality of the visuals and sounds of Colony Mutation. It looks awful, grainy and dark while the sound is distorted and often not synced to the actor’s mouths.
Directed by Shaun Troke, it’s a relief that Camp Massacre is only 72 minutes long because it is a rough watch. A no budget horror, it has campers being killed and not a lot else.

The Crooked Man was released in 2016 and is every bit a TV movie as you might expect. Both in storytelling, acting and visual quality. Now that might make you think it’s not worth checking out but you might be surprised by certain elements.
It’s back! Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes was released in 2006. It showed promise with its devotion to the original and mix of practical and CGI effects. Sadly the end result is very passable.
